good idea to package these fonts. Could you also ask upstream to upload
the fonts to CTAN. If this happens we could include it into TeX Live
upstream and the next release of TeX Live for Debian would ship the
fonts, too, automatically.

The -cfg issue is a red herring. The printing fails whether or not it finds the
-cfg file or even if it understands that option.
The problem still exists whether using xpdf-utils or poppler-utils version of
pdftops. PDFs will not print.

The only thing I can imagine to cause something like this is the
keybinding suddenly changed. And this I can better imagine done by
some gnome/dbus/gconf thingie than by ratpoison, which lacks any
provisions for that.

The libx11-dev is used in debian stable, testing, unstable and experimental, so
why not to remove xlibs-dev? Also Ubuntu only uses libx11-dev.
