I've looked into the reported vulnerabilities further, and produced the
following patch. The patch does 3 things.
- Firstly it disables the "Trust un-sanitized HTML" option altogether.
- Secondly a nice side effect of the way I did first item results

there was no log entry for ntpdate. Investigating a little, I found
that /etc/init.d/ntpdate (alias /etc/rcS.d/S51ntpdate) is called
before syslogd gets started.

When gnoemoe fetches icons as indicated in the mcp userlist, it uses a
blocking connect.. Which can block and thus completely hangs the user
interface if the connect actually blocks...
