I finally got some time to look at Win32-native Tk, and fixed it for
Tk-804.027 and Tk-804.028. Almost.

into Perl/TK a bit with Cygwin.
Initially I found it all to be fairly disappointing, not least because
when I finally got things "working" Perk/TK gave limited widgets and was
prone to crashes.

perl-Tk is X11-based because it *does not compile* on Cygwin for Win32.

are in which package and thus missing libraries. I removed what were
clearly Windows

As another test I did a full install of Libs and X11, afterwards my test
program now runs. I believe this confirms the issue is a missing
dependency in the package management system. What tools are available
ins the missing libraries?
The problem can be replicated by performing a new default install and
only selecting the new Perl-Tk package.

I've not been able to run the newly released Perl/TK, I always get a
stack dump as soon as I attempt to do anything with the main window.
The sample program I've been using is at the end of this email.
I've used the perl debugger on several programs, in this program is is

To clarify, using "perl Makefile.PL x" builds an X windows Perl/Tk.
Without the x, it builds to use n
ith rebase to get IO and Menubutton to work correctly.
