I submitted this to bugzilla last week, but I didn't know who to assign
it to, and I wanted it to get more exposure. If I'm posting this to the
wrong place, I apologize:
I suspect there might be an overflow bug related to the R_ALPHA_LITERAL
relocation type in binutils, but I cannot be certain.
After downloading 2.16.1 and building all apps, I did a make install.
This worked ok, because for instance my ld version 2.16.1. But when I
change the runlevel at bootup to single, I get my "old" ld version back
again!!
How can it be that two versions of ld are on my system. Is it a install
bug, or
