Hi,
I tried compiling and installing the linux kernel from ABS. I modified the
PKGBUILD file as mentioned in the wiki. The kernel compiles fine and the pkg
gets built with the name linux-custom as specified in the PKGBUILD. But when I
try to install it I get the following error:
$ sudo pacman -Uv

I've noticed that /var/abs/extra still contains kdeutils and kdeaccessibility,
with PKGBUILDs for the old 4.7.4 version. Those have been replaced in
kde 4.8.0 with a set of packages kdeutils-* and kdeaccessibility-*
The obsolete directories should be removed from abs/extra.
I build all package

That's you problem in the PKGBUILD. Your custom kernel doesn't need to

The bug report mentioned that they needed to restart the entire X
server after reverting that commit. Did you do that, or just restart
thunderbird after downgrading?
