Thanks for your comments Jayesh.
I have since switched to Clementine which even on my ancient system -
chosen for stability - plays nice and does exactly as I want it to do.

What on earth is going on here? I cannot find a viable solution on the
web. To date, I have deleted all files from my HDD, including
configuration files on the /home/AG directory, but after reinstalling,
Amarok responds in the same way. At firs
at are given are for Procol Harum's
"Salty Dog" (which I also have). How does this happen? It is happening
for pretty much each and every time I open up a new file to play on
Amarok and it is really a major bummer.
How do I fix this nonsense?

It really is too bad because it was my favourite music app and the
developers had really made some great advances in getting the cover
fetching manager working right as well. Unless KDE and Amarok learn how
to play nicely on this system, then Amarok has to go in favour of JaJuk.

Hi
On
ying Amarok. It has come on
in leaps and bounds and is looking mature and I always rely on it. Now
I am having to try out alternatives, so I would appreciate any help some
Amarok wizard can offer.
Thanks in (hopeful!) anticipation for any ideas/ leads, etc.
Cheers
