I think the issue is caused by changes on the server end which is causing an

While trying to write some queries to clean up records I no longer need, I
come up with a very strange situation where numbers literally don't add up as
expected.
If anyone can help me trace where this strange behaviour is coming from and
how to resolve it, please let me know.

I upgraded to 3.4.2 recently and ever since, the shared folders keep resetting
the "read" flag for emails. Forcing all new emails to always show as unread.
Is there a new setting (previous version was 3.0.16, so expect I missed some
new settings) that can explain this behaviour?
