[Bug 442849] [NEW] I/O apic could not be allocated, updates or 2.8 26-15 kernel killed my ubuntu

2009-10-04 Thread Gabor Vas
Public bug reported:

Dear All,
please find the error message above. Since I updated (sudo apt-get update
&upgrade) my Ubuntu 9.04 on an Acer 6000 TravelMate laptop cca. two weeks ago.
I cannot boot the system, not even from a live CD. In the machine's setup there
is no possibility to control apic. I also tried to edit the command line
entitled 'kernel' while adding the nolapic noapic commands. The windows xp
still runs because it was never connected to the internet. Any good solutions?
Please do not hesitate to ask for additional information.
Kind regards

[Bug 1782791] Re: pidgin-sipe libfreerdb color depth issue for screen sharing

2018-10-09 Thread David Vas
I have fixed my issue locally by downloading the source, then opening
src/core/sipe-appshare-remmina.c

And then adding "colordepth=0\n" to the config_file printf, so now it looks
like:
config_file = g_strdup_printf("[remmina]\n"
  "name=%s (Sipe desktop)\n"
  "protocol=RDP\n"
  "server=%s:%u\n"
  "security=rdp\n"
  "scale=1\n"
  "aspectscale=1\n"
  "viewmode=1\n"
  "colordepth=0\n"
  "disableautoreconnect=1\n",
  alias ? alias : stream->call->with,
  address_string,
  port);
After compiling it works properly.

[Bug 1782791] Re: pidgin-sipe libfreerdb color depth issue for screen sharing

2019-09-18 Thread David Vas
I assume it is - my fix is in the above comment. Luckily my company had
moved away from Skype for Business so I no longer have to use it, so I
can't confirm if it is still a bug for me.

My advice would be to just download the latest source, find that
particular line and add the modification, and then compile from source.

[Bug 1782791] [NEW] pidgin-sipe libfreerdb color depth issue for screen sharing

2018-07-20 Thread David Vas
Public bug reported:

This looks like has already been fixed for Fedora:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1594900

Ubuntu 18.04
I'm using the latest pidgin-sipe 1.23.2-1
pidgin version 1:2.12.0-1ubuntu4
remmina version 1.2.0-rcgit.29+dfsg-1ubuntu1

When trying to accept a screenshare in pidgin-sipe, the following error message
pops up:
"You requested an H264 GFX mode for server 127.0.0.1, but your libfreerdp does
not support H264. Please check Color Depth settings.

If there's a version of any package I can roll back to in the meantime
as a workaround, let me know.

Thanks!

[Bug 1487824] [NEW] suspend/resume failure macbook

2015-08-22 Thread Vas Kaloidis
Public bug reported:

This issue happens randomly on my Early 2011 Macbook Pro 13" i7 with
16gb ram, 1tb SSD HD Running Ubuntu 14.04.3 Trusty.

Randomly, when the laptop goes into suspend (either automatically or
when I close the lid), (sometimes) it crashes and turns-off, so when I
get back and attempt to resume, I have to turn the laptop back-on start
it back up... Which means I loose anything that was running before the
laptop suspended... This dos not always happen, but most of the time it
does.

This issue has happened always, starting after I first installed Linux
on my Macbook Pro.

Thanks!

[Bug 1247802] [NEW] language KCM sets incorrect LANGUAGE

2013-11-04 Thread Gabor Vas
Public bug reported:

i use 13.10 kubuntu on a Desktop machine. I added 4 languages to System
settings>Locale (in order: British English, American English, Portuguese,
French, Hungarian) and terminal applications and output language changed to
Portuguese, I cannot really set it back).
Super annoying.

[Bug 939850] [NEW] Can't install Dell1130 Printer in kubuntu

2012-02-23 Thread Gabor Vas
Public bug reported:

I am using Kubuntu 11.10, -bit, fully updated with KDE 4.8 from ppa.

I tried to install the printer from the provided cd's shell script and
it logs me off from kubuntu!!! Same happens if I download the installing
packages from Dell's website.

If I try to install it from System settings>Printer Configuration, providing
the ppd file, I can have a test page and nothing else: all the jobs are held
back for unknown reasons, I am only able to cancel them.
CUPS says the same from browser

[Bug 660916] [NEW] Ubuntu 9.10 craches using any package, processor wants to die

2010-10-14 Thread Gabor Vas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I am using an Acer trvellmate 6000 (1.66GHZ, 1.2GB RAM), a continental
one. I arrived 2 months ago to the UK, so I plug it with an adapter.
Roughly a week ago, mainly while I try to open a webpage with graphical
content (news mainly), the led of the processor and noises are informing
me the machine wants to die, in a lucky case it leads to a Force quit,
in an unlucky one a reboot. This is a pretty amateur description, please
tell me what else to write here to facilitate your generous help.

[Bug 1820760] Re: Teclast F6 Pro touchpad not recognized Ubuntu 18.04.2

2020-09-05 Thread Vas Masal
I have a new Teclast F6 Plus.
Wi-Fi, touchscreen and touchpad are not working.
What would be a proper bug-fix request for this issue? Sorry if this is not a
right place to ask this, I am a newbie.

[Bug 1028821] [NEW] evolution gets SIGSEV on startup

Hi -

Since leaving evolution running overnight on my ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 PC at work,

[Bug 1028821] Re: evolution gets SIGSEV on startup

2012-07-25 Thread Jason Vas Dias
line 255 in gtkiconcache.c is :
   guint32 name_offset = GET_UINT32 (cache->buffer, chain_offset + 4);

it looks like cache->buffer is NULL here.

[Bug 1023401] [NEW] gcc-4.6.3 's c++ command cannot locate "stdc++.h" in standard include path

2012-07-11 Thread Jason Vas Dias
Public bug reported:

Having a look at step 1 of "Using the Standard C++ Library", at :
http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-4.7.1/libstdc++/manual/manual/using_headers.html
it says:

Precompiled Headers

There are three base header files that are provided. They can be used to
precompile the standard headers and extensions into binary files that
may the be used to speed compiles that use these headers.

stdc++.h

Includes all standard headers. Actual content varies depending on language
dialect.

So, on Ubuntu 12.04, with gcc-4.6-multilib (4:4.6.3-1ubuntu5) installed on an
x86_64 ,
I do:

  $ echo '#include ' > t.cpp
  $ g++ -c t.cpp

$ g++ -c t.cpp
t.cpp:1:20: fatal error: stdc++.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

So one cannot use the standard documentation for the standard C++
library with your distribution .

Evidently g++ is invoking cpp without these directories being searched :

$ find /usr/include -name 'stdc\+\+\.h'
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/bits/stdc++.h
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/bits/stdc++.h

Even though cpp purports to be searching them :

$ cpp -print-search-dirs
install: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/
programs:
=/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/bin/x86_64-linux-gnu/:/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.6/../../../../x86_64-linux-gnu/bin/

[Bug 1023401] Re: gcc-4.6.3 's c++ command cannot locate "stdc++.h" in standard include path

2012-07-11 Thread Jason Vas Dias
I guess I now have to apply this "ubuntu-gcc" patch to my code :

#if __LONG_MAX__ > 0xULL
#include
#else
#include
#endif

Why is Ubuntu making people who want to use stdc++.h do this ?

Please restore standard STL usage patterns to your distribution .

[Bug 1023401] Re: gcc-4.6.3 's c++ command cannot locate "stdc++.h" in standard include path

2012-07-11 Thread Jason Vas Dias
What I don't understand is, why are you hiding away 'stdc++.h' under
include/bits ?

root@jvdsttpc:~# dpkg-query -L libstdc++6-4.6-dev | grep 'stdc\+\+\.h'
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/bits/stdc++.h
/usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/bits/stdc++.h

One is meant to be able to include all standard C++ headers with '#include
' .

When I build and install gcc-4.6+ from GNU source, indeed, 'stdc++.h' is
installed and the above example works OK .

Why has your distribution disabled this behaviour ?

[Bug 1023401] Re: gcc-4.6.3 's c++ command cannot locate "stdc++.h" in standard include path

2012-07-11 Thread Jason Vas Dias
A temporary workaround :

As root, do :

 $ ln -s bits/stdc++.h /usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/stdc++.h
 $  ln -s bits/stdc++.h /usr/include/c++/4.6/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/stdc++.h

tough luck if you don't have root privilege.
