[Bug 272185] Re: [Intrepid] iwl3945 + iwlagn -- network-manager will not connect to a WPA EAP (Enterprise) network (disassociating by local choice (reason=3) )
Hey Albert, Thanks for the wpa_supplicant conf file. -- [Intrepid] iwl3945 + iwlagn -- network-manager will not connect to a WPA EAP (Enterprise) network (disassociating by local choice (reason=3) ) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Albert, I tried using the conf file and getting connection to work using wpa-supplicant. For some reason, I am failing to get it working. I am using Intel 4695 AGN Wireless card. If you are using the same wireless card, would it be possible for u to also make a post/"how to" for using wpa_supplicant.

I checked out the latest package and updated the packages, but that didnt help. Is there any way, I could use the older package (0.6.x) that was used in ubuntu hardy 8.04 ? I am currently using 8.10. thanks, -- [Intrepid] iwl3945 + iwlagn -- network-manager will not connect to a WPA EAP (Enterprise) network (disassociating by local choice (reason=3) ) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi, I am a complete noob when it comes to networking. I just upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04 and I can not connect to WPA2 on my university's network anymore. Before (on 8.04) it used to work seamlessly. Just in case other ppl are looking ... this is the WPA2 network of UIUC (University of Ilinois, urbana-champaign). The wireless card that I am using is: Intel 4965AGN on a thinkpad T61. As I said before, I do not know much about networking, so you would have to tell me what all details you would like to know from my side. The config for Vista as posted on the university website are: Network name: UIwpa2 Security type: WPA2-Enterprise Encryption type: AES Don't check "Connect even if the network is not broadcasting" Choose a network authentication method: Protected EAP (PEAP) Uncheck Cache user information for subsequent connections to the network. In the Protected EAP Properties window, enter the following information: Check "Validate server certificate" Check "Connect to these servers" In the servers text box, enter the following (without spaces): neauth1.cites.uiuc.edu;neauth2.cites.uiuc.edu Trusted Root Certification Authorities: Check "Thawte Premium Server CA" Check "Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certificate authorities" Authentication method: Secured password (EAP-MSCHAPv2) Check "Enable fast reconnect" Don't check "Enable quarantine checks" Don't check "Disconnect if server does not present cryptobinding TLV thanks, Rahul -- [Intrepid] iwl3945 + iwlagn -- network-manager will not connect to a WPA EAP (Enterprise) network (disassociating by local choice (reason=3) ) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272185 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
