[Bug 540801] Re: X server starts before Plymouth, or a very short time after (no or brief splash)

2011-01-13 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello!

@Florian Snow:

Did you have done with sudo? To modify initramfs tools, you must be
connected with root permissions.

Read comment n°29 and try the method of Chritian Göbel.

It works for me with an intel graphic card on Ubunut 10.04 and 10.10.

2012-05-07 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello,

On a fresh install of 12.04 64 bits with two users, if i choose a
default wallpaper in the list or if i choose an independant wallpaper,
lightdm loop on the next boot. When i encode my password twice, the
connexion loops too and the session refuse to start. Next boot, the bug
disapears. It is hazardous but frequently.

[Bug 649917] Re: GLIb-WARNING **: getpwid_r(): failed due to unknown user id

2011-09-13 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello!

This bug is absolutely not fixed! The message is hidden but the system could'nt
launch xorg and gdm. Blank screen and only ctrl-alt-del can reboot the machine
to try a next boot.

It seems to be linked with plymouth.

I've a debian testing on the same desktop and i've never seen this bug
on debian. But, on debian, plymouth is not installed!

How can we unistall plymouth properly on lucid 10.04.2 LTS?

2011-09-13 Thread sacha@ubuntu
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 532984 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532984

Hello!

The bug is not fixed at all! After one of several kernel updates, the
bug reappears!

Plymouth seems to be the cause.

To fix : sudo dpkg-reconfigure plymouth solve temporally the problem to
the new kernel upgrade...

I'm also on a debian testing. I've never seen this bug on debian because
debian don't use plymouth...

How can we safely remove plymouth?

[Bug 1034164] Re: [SRU Regression] Launcher tooltips don't appear immediately the first time

2012-08-19 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello,

Bug for me too...

Both on my intel video GPU and my nVidia GPU... same problem with
tooltips. Once dash is launched, tolltips appear correctly, without this
example of action, i have the same descrition before.

This is not a "huge" bug but it is not very eye-candy... ;-)

When the fix for precise is expected? 12.04.2 seems to be too far away..
for an LTS distrib. ;-)

Thank's for your great job!

[Bug 800700] Re: Lucid: package language-pack-gnome-fr cannot be upgraded

2011-06-23 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello.

I can confirm this bug too.

Update-manager cannot upgrade package language-pack-gnome-fr because
dependencies are broken with another package called "base" of FR
language.

Workaround?

Uninstall packages and reinstall it with a "sudo aptitude install
language-pack-gnome-fr" command gives a good result and reinsall old
versions of those packages. After, Update-manager cannot upgrade, the
bug still here but the language on system is good. On update manager,
the two packages are not selected in the window. Upgrade is impossible
to the new version.

[Bug 800700] Re: Lucid: package language-pack-gnome-fr cannot be upgraded

2011-06-24 Thread sacha@ubuntu
@David and Alan :

Did you have installed the firefox stable PPA with ubuntu-tweak or
manually?

They are, in this PPA, a lot of "update language packages" named like
"language-pack-fr" and "language-pack-fr-base", not gnome of course.

They are not dependancies with language-pack-gnone-fr but desccribed on
launchpad as similar.

In link with our problem? A possible confusion update? I think no, it's
for mozilla packages, but...

2011-04-27 Thread sacha@ubuntu
I confirm that, when i kill the processus indicator-datetime-
preferences, the applet works fine after.

But, i haven'nt this processus after boot and login. The fisrt time
after i hit the preference option, then, the pocessus appears once. I
kill it, i restart the preferences and it works fine.

If i reboot, the bug appears

It seems to be a lot of problems with the root permissions, when i've
checked my sourcelists for example, without message and after few
minutes, the screen freezes and hard reset is needed. It would be
linked?

Why people doesn't suffer of this bug?

On ubuntu-fr.org, some users doesn't have this bug on natty beta2. Why?

It's strange! If it's a bug of policykit, why some users don't have this
bug too?

Why it's works with another session and not on the first session?

[Bug 751175] Re: Time and Date Settings don't load (Natty Beta 1)

2011-04-26 Thread sacha@ubuntu
Hello!

I'm running on a fresh upgrade of Natty (this day).

On my first session (created on intall), hiting preferences of date/time
applet does'nt work. I've deleted gconfd, gconf and gnome, none!

I have tested sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata, none!

I have tested with another session. And, on this session, it works!

It's strange that we must switch to another session to modify
preferences of date/time.

So, anybody had tested with a new session?
