[Bug 238304] Re: Grub: menu.lst isn't generated correctly
I don't have the disk that made the error occur anymore, so I guess the output would be useless? Or should I still generate it? [Bug 349418] [NEW] Huawei e220 either appears double in network manager, don't appear at all or disappears after a while
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager First of, part of this bug relates to, and some parts might be fixed along with these. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/342775 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/290177 First of, I confirm the first bug, but I got some additional behaviour. When I try to connect one of the modems they sometimes disappear. If I actually get a successful connection it disconnects and the modem disappears. The first behaviour is IF the modem appears first. Although this was mostly fixed by removing the password it still happens once in a while. Regarding bug nr 2, there is additional bad behaviour in Jaunty, since it's impossible to get the modem to show at all in the network manager if it's pincode-protected and I give it the pin-code. Only way to make it work is make it accept the pin, reboot and then try to connect, where I mostly end up with the behaviour above. I'm not sure what information that would be helpful, but I ran a dmesg and only interesting bit is what happens when I successfully connect: [ 465.988387] option1 ttyUSB1: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1 [ 465.999094] option1 ttyUSB0: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0 [ 466.430997] option1 ttyUSB2: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB2 [ 466.431600] option1 ttyUSB3: GSM modem (1-port) converter now disconnected from ttyUSB3 Please provide me what I can do to help finding the problem(s?). --- Additional info: roh...@elysia:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release:9.04 roh...@elysia:~$ apt-cache policy network-manager network-manager: Installed: 0.7.1~rc3.1.git4cf2da146-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 0.7.1~rc3.1.git4cf2da146-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 0.7.1~rc3.1.git4cf2da146-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status roh...@elysia:~$ apt-cache policy network-manager-gnome network-manager-gnome: Installed: 0.7.1~rc3-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 0.7.1~rc3-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 0.7.1~rc3-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Huawei e220 either appears double in network manager, don't appear at all or disappears after a while https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/349418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 413485] [NEW] Huawei E220 won't finalize connection
Public bug reported: I've had this problem for a while now. When I try to connect to 3 (Denmark) with my Huawei E220 on Karmic, it seems it can't finalize the connection. The network manager sends pin as it should (the color on the diode changes to indicate that the pin is accepted), it shows that there is a connection and while connecting the diode changes from blinking to constant glowing (to indicate it's connected). But here the problem comes, because the network manager keeps working like connecting, I don't get a usable connection and it just keeps working. Basically it looks like it doesn't get the IP and DNS informations as it should. I have called my provider, and according to them there's nothing changed in the setup, so it sould work as it always has, and it worked flawlessly in 9.04 and fine in 8.10. I've checked the settings in the network manager and they look identical to 9.04, I've tried deleting the setup and reconfiguring the modem, without luck. Don't hesitate to ask if I can do something to provide better debugging info. [Bug 430557] Re: libgecko2.0-cil missing in karmic
Ok I tried searching isn't it only the source that's called gecko- sharp2? I want the binary, so far I couldn't care less about the source, just as long as I can compile monodevelop from svn. -- libgecko2.0-cil missing in karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/430557 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 434477] Re: network-manager: no dns recieved with mobile connectio (Huawei E220)
Weird, I can confirm a bit different behavior. I discovered it gives a different dns ip, if the one from my ISP isn't received (I presume that's what's happening, since I haven't seen that IP before). About the rest, yes you should make a new bug on this or rather search existing bugs. I think I have bugreported behavior like that before, but I'm not sure, haven't had the time to report much lately. But to me it seems rather random from different networkmanager/modemmanger versions, some of them you had to boot it with the modem, some plug the modem in after boot, and currently I experience that booting with the modem then rebooting works best. -- network-manager: no dns recieved with mobile connectio (Huawei E220) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 434477] Re: network-manager: no dns recieved with mobile connectio (Huawei E220)
Ehm, I used the wizard, no DNS from there (and just in case, I also deleted and recreated the connection to make sure there was no bugs there) -- network-manager: no dns recieved with mobile connectio (Huawei E220) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434477 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 419771] [NEW] Missing symlink/misplaced file in libqyoto4.4-cil
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: libqyoto4.4-cil One of the files needed for Qyoto development is either places in a wrong place or there's a missing symlink, the relevant file is libqyotoshared.so which in the package is placed in /usr/lib, but the Qyoto binding looks for it in /usr/lib/cli/kde-bindings-4.4, the error can be seen below. I fixed this on my system with a symlink, I didn't symlink libqyotoshared.so.1 or libqyotoshared.so.1.0.0 so and it works, so I'm of the impression they don't need to be linked. The package I have is the current one from the Karmic repositories. roh...@elysia:~/C shit/qyoto spikes$ ./Tooltip.exe Unhandled Exception: System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for Qyoto.QApplication ---> System.TypeInitializationException: An exception was thrown by the type initializer for Qyoto.SmokeInvocation ---> System.DllNotFoundException: /usr/lib/cli/kdebindings-4.4/libqyotoshared.so at (wrapper managed-to-native) Qyoto.SmokeMarshallers:InstallInvokeDelegate (Qyoto.SmokeMarshallers/InvokeDelegateFn) at Qyoto.SmokeMarshallers.SetUp () [0x0] at Qyoto.SmokeInvocation.InitRuntime () [0x0] at Qyoto.SmokeInvocation..cctor () [0x0] --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Qyoto.QApplication..cctor () [0x0] --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at QyotoTooltip.Main (System.String[] args) [0x0] ** Affects: kdebindings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Missing symlink/misplaced file in libqyoto4.4-cil https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/419771 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 430557] Re: libgecko2.0-cil missing in karmic
I got one, not so good one, but it works. Actually I also got a modified one that is more appropriate for 9.10. First one (got one minor problem, described in a moment): Download the file from the package-system from 9.04, this is found at: http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/libs/ and is currently down, so I can't give the exact link, but you can find it there. Second option, which I also prefer is: Use a hacked version of the file. Problem with the one at the repository is that it forces xulrunner-1.9, but since I like to have support for everything, such as Moonlight (so I can use homepages with Silverlight), I hacked mine to force xulrunner-1.9.1 in stead, so everything works :) My hacked version is for 64-bit systems, and should be downloadable here: http://www.mediafire.com/?19ym9nn3ydj -- libgecko2.0-cil missing in karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/430557 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 464828] [NEW] Complaint about VERY bad handling of a bug
Public bug reported: I would make a VERY strong complaint about the handling of this bug. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gecko-sharp2/+bug/430557 I reported it over a month ago. The most important part of the solution only requires the inclusion of one file in the repository. I might hardly need to say that this should a a very small task that should be doable in a few minutes. Second part, which I unfortunately didn't see to earlier is that the dependencies should be fixed is also a minor task which is also doable in few minutes. How can a but that is fixed with so little work be allowed to be ignored? I would really like to see a "bug fix", so bugs so small and simple get fixed. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Complaint about VERY bad handling of a bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/464828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Btw. before anyone says something about the package has been renamed, I just want to point out that I checked and can't find the new or the old name, and I have also checked for other names, the package simply isn't there. -- Complaint about VERY bad handling of a bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/464828 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 827815] Re: Can't log into KDE, with error: Could not start D-bus, can you call qdbus?
Worked for me to install it, but it's a bit unintuitive to do so. Couldn't this be moved to a separate package?
