[Bug 574406] [NEW] Audio capture doesn't record anything.
Public bug reported: I discovered this bug on my Gateway LT2110U netbook which i recently bought new. Before installing Xbuntu 10.04 the audio capture worked just fine in Windows 7, however after installing Ubuntu I noticed it doesn't work in Skype, recordmydesktop, and voice recorder and among other applications as well. I tried changing every audio setting I could find and even tried other distros, but to no avail. I tried Gnome in case it was the DE, but that didn't help neither. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Audio capture doesn't record anything. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574406 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 415023] Re: brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100
The easiest fix I found is to just remove power manager. sudo apt-get remove-xfce4-power-manager is what I did. Worked fine. You won't have a power manager, but do you really need it? I keep mine plugged in almost all the time, so its not an issue for me. Re: [Bug 415023] Re: brightness is broken on MSI WIND U100
If you don't need a power manager, simply removing gnome-power-manager is one way to fix it. Another way for those that need a power manager is remove gnome-power-manager and replace it with KDE's guidance-power-manager, although suspend won't work from my experience. I desperately tried something and it worked for me. Shut down, unplug power from laptop, remove battery, hold down power button for about 10 seconds (to drain all power), plug power back in, and turn on computer. Worked for me, hope this helps. Oh, and for the screen brightness flickering bug, i just removed power manager. Re: [Bug 413399] Re: [Karmic] [i945] Screen flickers due to constantly changing brightness level
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 415023 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415023 I figured out a solution that works indefinitely, at least till an update comes along anyway. Go to applications>settings>Xfce 4 Settings Manager>Power Management and all settings for monitor and brightness to never. So far this has worked, as long as I don't try to adjust the brightness because that would trigger our little problem again which I don't wanna do. So until there is a fix this works fine, actually I'll keep my settings this way just in case. Hope this helps.
