[Bug 539440] Re: gtkwidget.c:5636: widget not within a GtkWindow
I can confirm this bug on maverick and found a way to reproduce it. It only occurs with fglrx and not with ati as graphics driver. (Radeon Mobility 5650) It only occurs on gnome and not on kde. After fglrx 2:8.780-0ubuntu2 I tried 8.780 from ati.com with the similar results. How to reproduce: Install and start the qt-designer $ sudo apt-get install qt4-designer $ designer-qt4 Open a QWidget window: File -> new -> Widget -> new Add a QTabWidget Select the QWidget and chose a layout (i.e. QVBoxLayout) Click and hold the lower right corner of the QWidget Form and increase the window size. Gnome/X crashes and shows the gdm-greeter. It seems every Qt/KDE-application containing a big, resizeable tab-widget can cause a Gnome crash on my notebook. For now Gnome is unusable for me and I have to use KDE... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/539440 Title: gtkwidget.c:5636: widget not within a GtkWindow -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1281286] [NEW] ruby-arel >= 4 breaks ruby-activerecord-3.2
Public bug reported: This bug results into a non-working "/usr/bin/rails"! The package of ruby-activerecord-3.2 claims to depend on ruby-arel ">= 3.0.2~" but the ruby source states "~> 3.0.2" which means ">=3.0.2 <<4" in Debian syntax! See /usr/share/rubygems-integration/*/specifications/activerecord-3.2.13.gemspec ! Since saucy ruby-arel 4.0 is in Ubuntu but this version is only supported in rails 4.0. The best solution might be to offer a new (old) ruby-arel-3.0 package in parralel on saucy and trusty. For trusty it might be a good idea to upgrade to rails 4 (ruby-activerecord-4.0). If that is not possible before the release we need to downgrade ruby- arel to 3.0! [Bug 1069549] Re: package linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: Unterprozess neues pre-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück
"This kernel does not support a non-PAE CPU." Ubuntu dropped support for non-PAE CPUs with 12.10. They suggest to use 12.04 on such hardware. It is possible to use a 12.04 kernel on a 12.10 system or to compile your own kernel without PEA support. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EnablingPAE IMHO a better solution would have been to add a new linux-generic-nonpae package to the main repository. [Bug 346850] Re: /var/log/cherokee/cherokee.access Not created during deb installation
I ran into the same problem because I use tmpfs for /var/log and /usr/sbin/cherokee fails if one of the log-dirs does not exist. [06/06/2012 18:00:00.123] (error) logger_writer.c:304 - Could not open '/var/log/cherokee/cherokee.error' for appending | This is probably related to the file permissions. Please make sure that it is writable for the user under which Cherokee is run. IMHO the correct solution would be that the cherokee binary checks for logdir existance and tries to create missing ones. As a workaround I inserted '''if [ ! -d /var/log/cherokee ]; then mkdir /var/log/cherokee; fi''' into line 31 of /etc/init.d/cherokee (Just before the "start-stop-daemon --start" call) This is only a hack because custom log-paths can be configured in /etc/cherokee/cherokee.conf ! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346850 Title: /var/log/cherokee/cherokee.access Not created during deb installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cherokee/+bug/346850/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
