[Bug 363808] [NEW] Upgrade tool crashes if using different versions of python
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager My laptop had Ubuntu 8.04, later upgraded to 8.10, then upgraded to Jaunty using 'update-manager -d'. All the download process was fine upto the package installation and configuration process. On Intrepid I installed python 2.4 alongside 2.5. I need it for python development such as zope, plone etc. Jaunty installed python 2.6 but for some reason /usr/bin/python symlink was removed (it was pointing to python 2.5), but never restored to the adequate path (/usr/bin/python2.6). Since /usr/bin/python was not available, a lot of scripts failed. I managed to solve this issue by manually creating the /usr/bin/python (to 2.6) symlink and reinstalling ubuntu-desktop package. I took a quick look at the logs in /var/log/dist-upgrade/. It says something about no space left on disk. I was running low in disk space. [Bug 459919] [NEW] Changing the computer name is no longer posible using only GUI tools on Karmic
Public bug reported: I recall that going to System-> Administration -> Network and then selecting the "General" tab was the way to go to change my laptop's hostname.
