Re: [Bug 559163] Re: Dell latitude D600 hangs on wakeup from suspend

2010-05-29 Thread michaelfsp
I can confirm I have tried my D600 on Arch Linux (currently running 2.6.33)
and since some kernel upgrade somewhere in the 2.6.32 generation the suspend
and hibernate stopped working the way it is described here. However I have
not ran extensive debug nor have I compared log files.

[Bug 986236] [NEW] Text in the global menu bar not rendered right when using the Radiance theme in Unity 2D

2012-04-20 Thread michaelfsp
Public bug reported:

Just running the daily build of precise as of today and turning the
theme from Ambiance to Radiance the text in the global menu bar becomes
very ugly (suggests a problem with font rendering/hinting/anti-
aliasing).

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 937704] Re: [9462GAG, Analog Devices AD1981, Green Line Out, Left] Sound is distorted: clipping is after computer resumes from standby

2012-03-02 Thread michaelfsp
** Description changed:

After turning computer on and before sending it to standby sound is
played normally but after resuming from standby sound is distorted. This
affects both programs that use gstreamer (Banshee) and at least one that
  doesn't (Audacious).

Have tried the three suggestions on
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting but none is able to fix
  the problem.

This problem seems to get worse under high CPU load.

Curiously, if a music is playing and I press reboot, in the time between
clicking 'Reboot' and the actual reboot, sound is played normally,
meaning, the clipping and distortions disappear during these 2-3 secs
that it takes ubuntu to close all processes and restart the computer.

running pyvenv-3.4 with option --without-pip prevents this error from
happening. additionally, python3 -m ensurepip returns "No module named
ensurepip", so it seems like this module is lacking...

FYI, I also have package python3-pip installed.

Dear Christopher,

Unfortunately I don't have that computer any more and do cannot confirm
whether the problem is now fixed.

Thanks for your message.

[Bug 937704] [NEW] [9462GAG, Analog Devices AD1981, Green Line Out, Left] Sound is distorted: clipping is after computer resumes from standby

2012-02-21 Thread michaelfsp
Public bug reported:

[Bug 784520] Re: Unity launcher doesn't autohide; toggling Num Lock fixes the problem

2011-06-22 Thread michaelfsp
I can confirm it happens with me as well, typically when dragging
something within a program such as Mendeley or OpenOffice. Toggling Num
Lock key does indeed solve the problem.

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: unity

On all 3 systems where I have installed Ubuntu Natty I've seen this bug.
At seemingly random points in time, the Unity launcher will stop
autohiding, obscuring both maximized applications and "windowed"
applications that sit under the launcher. I'm typically running Emacs
and Opera, so perhaps this combination is relevant.

Today I've discovered that toggling the Num Lock state on the keyboard
makes the launcher hide. This seems to make no sense, but it is what I
  observe.

Found no likely duplicates that were still open. unity package is at

should happen. Therefore, the extension is unusable.

Using Ubuntu 11.04 amd64 (updated as of today). Banshee version

[Bug 778017] Re: eMusic integration extension not working

2011-05-05 Thread michaelfsp
Thanks for the quick response.

At Gnome I have obtained the following answer:

Gabriel Burt [banshee developer] 2011-05-05 19:01:31 UTC
There are two extensions, one for the downloader client (adds the ability to
parse/download .emx files, eg from Media -> Import) and the store. My guess is
you don't have the store.

I guess the latter is right so case solved.

I think it is not exclusive to Debian distros since I also experienced since
some Kernel upgrade in my Arch Linux installation. So far no news from there
either.
