Re: [Bug 244639] Re: package is not installable in hardy

2008-07-02 Thread Max
tx Mike :)

i reported this bug because in the lxde ppa page there is a list box
that allows to choose between three apt sources.list entries, and hardy
is one of the possible choice.
so the lxde ppa page suggests that there is a repository not only for
intrepid and hardy, but also for gutsy.
i was wrongly supposing that the lxde ppa repository manteiners were the
ones also directly responsible for all the ubuntu lxde packages
i will try to submit this bug directly to the lxde ppa team.

many thanks anyway.

ps sorry for my english ;-)

[Bug 37227] Re: unnamed imap folder

2008-11-19 Thread max
I just tried the following:
- Deleting the empty unnamed folder (said it couldn't do it)
- Renaming the empty unnamed folder (again it wouldn't)

I then tried moving the unnamed folder from the IMAP server to my
computer. When I did this, Evolution deleted all the emails in my Inbox.
This is totally unacceptable. I realise that small bugs do occur in
software, but this is a serious bug which causes data loss and which
still hasn't been fixed, despite being reported over 2 years ago.
Furthermore, I am very annoyed that Evolution deleted all my e-mails. I
am therefore uninstalling Evolution and will not be reinstalling it
until this bug is fixed, because at the moment it is a liability. I
cannot use an e-mail client if it risks deleting all my e-mails.

The importance of this bug needs to be marked as MAJOR because it causes
data loss.

[Bug 304367] [NEW] Images in PDF do not print correctly using Evince

2008-12-02 Thread Max
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

The images in page 4 and 5 of
http://en.petzl.com/ProduitsServices/GRIGRI_D14601-I.pdf do not print
correctly - some parts of the images are omitted. When viewing figure
3d on screen in evince, the images include climbers and rope, with some
parts highlighted with orange marks. When printing, only the orange
marks appear. With figure 4, there should be a silhouette of two
climbers to the right of the line drawing of a large person. When
printing, the silhoutte part is omitted.

This PDF prints correctly from Foxit Reader on Windows.

I'm using Evince 2.24.1 on an up to date installation of Intrepid.

Page 6 of this document didn't previously print at all and was covered
separately in Bug #181030. This may be related.

[Bug 388762] [NEW] evolution crashed when correct new message

2009-06-17 Thread max
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi,

Evolution crashed every time when I try to change word with error.
To reproduce it:
1. open new message.
2. In Message area type some thing like: helllo l
3. put mice on world "helllo" and press right mice button.
4. choose "English" > "hello"
and all evolution immediately close without any messages.

Re: [Bug 329645] Re: Cannot suspend a and wake up correctly

2009-06-03 Thread Max
hi, thanks for your answer!
I don't know how to solve this problem. I can't handle the command
line. I've searched the web for solutions, but it seems that with my
type of notebook (hp nc4010) everyone got the same problem. No
hibernate, neither standby. At the end when I need battery hours I
still have to use windows xp.

cheers,
max

[Bug 224134] Re: GRUB fails to install in Ubuntu 8.04

2009-04-18 Thread Max
The solution was to install on an ext2 partition, that worked for me. I
haven't installed Ubuntu recently so I can't tell if this is still a
problem. I had this issue about a year ago and if you successfully
installed on ext3 partitions then I guess it's fixed.

[Bug 329082] Re: Group by threads for Forwaded mails

2009-02-25 Thread max
Hi Sebastien,
Sorry for my previous post. I think this just wasn't implemented feature in
evolution. It is not critical but it will improve appearance of evolution.

How to reproduce it:
1. In Evolution menu View check box "Group by Threads"
2. Change folder for store sent messages. Go to menu Edit>Preferences>mail
Accounts. Choose here your mail account and press Edit. In Account Editor go to
tab "Defaults". Change "Sent messages folder" to folder which you use for
receiving messages from this account (I don't know which you use but usually it
is "Inbox").
3. Choose any recent message and Reply on this message.
4. Choose same message and Forward this message.

What will you have:
for reply message it will be group with original message correctly but
forwarded message will be in new thread.

Thank you for reply.

I will try to attach screenshot. But look like ubuntu jaunty have new
bug and screenshots doesn't work. After next update I hope it will be
fixed.

[Bug 302485] Re: No persistence with USB Creator in Ubuntu 8.10

2009-04-23 Thread Max
After a few experiments, it seems like roughly 2047MB is the limit for
how big persistence can be set to (it's somewhere in between 1025MB and
2047MB, this much I can confirm; I just tried it with 1GB and it worked
after two failures with 2GB), if it's above that threshold it just skips
creating it (for me it just jumped from about 25% to done).

following in catalina.out:

WARNING: Failed to register in JMX: javax.naming.NamingException: Could
not create resource factory instance [Root exception is
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory]

I presume this means that the application is expecting to find the
tomcat dbcp classes specifically and won't work with the commons ones.
This application installs and runs perfectly using a downloaded Tomcat 6
install from tomcat.apache.org. The only way I could get it running
using the Ubuntu Tomcat packages was to manually copy tomcat-dbcp.jar
into the class path.

[Bug 160843] Re: amarok doesn't show icons

2008-11-03 Thread max
This bug is persistent in Ubuntu 8.10 too. As a quick hack, if you want
nice icons in amarok, simply extract the attached file to
/usr/share/icons . You'll need to do it as root. Then restart Amarok.

[Bug 284298] Re: MASTER cannot save "auto" connection as system settings without renaming the connection

2008-11-02 Thread max
I can confirm I'm having the same problem, and the workaround seems to
fix it. Although then the network manager applet in the notification
area on the panel disappears. Clearly the 'system setting' option was
not ready to be released.
