Re: [Bug 73763] Re: "switch users" problem
Hi, At the time I reported this bug, I was completely new to computers and Ubuntu. The "switch user"-issue is no longer an issue for me. I lock screen first an then switch users. And there is no problem. Sorry forgot about it - and, yes, I am not a professional at all. [Bug 92161] Re: f-spot-screensaver problem
This is not a bug. Imported photos have to be stored in a folder. Didn't realize this and deleted this folder. That's why screensaver crashed. -- f-spot-screensaver problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/92161 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This is a bogus bug. Was not aware of the fact that the photograph's permissions had been changed after a re-install. [Bug 92161] f-spot-screensaver problem
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Linux marc-laptop 2.6.20-10-generic #2 SMP Mon Mar 12 00:02:49 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux I use my favorite photo's as screensaver. This works fine until you use the f-spot tool to view something else, for instance a photo someone mailed. Then the connection is broken and it is impossible to restore the f-spot-screensaver. If I want it back, I have to delete the f-spot-directory in ~/.gnome2 and re-import the photo's. Then I can make it work until...see above. This is very frustrating. So I don't use it anymore. Hope it'll get fixed soon. ** Description changed: laptop: DELL LATITUDE ID: Ubuntu 6.10 edgy - problem: when I restart the laptop, after the "hibernate" option was used, I get a GUI that makes no sense, with vertical stripes, in colors, no fonts and with a cursor in the form of a white square one can move around with the mouse. I simply can not get out of that one. I have to shut down the computer with the on/off button. Then, rebooting, I get the consolescreen with a lot of comments, telling it coudent kill nr , there is no such process. (sorry, for this information, I simply didn't dare to try again to hibernate it). When this occurred for the first time, I detected a program called "hibernate". I installed it with adept-manager, and, for a couple of times I got it out of the hibernate mode, but then I lost the sound on my computer. I haven't the slightest idea why, but after a couple of logging-outs, "hibernate"-mode, I got the above situation permanently. [Bug 73763] "switch users" problem
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-session laptop: DELL LATITUDE ID: Ubuntu 6.10 edgy problem: when I log out and use the "switch user" button, the person who logs in gets his normal GUI but with a mouse cursor that stays transfixed. It can nevertheless be forced to move with the little mauve scroll wheel in the middle of my keyboard, but is unable to click anything. When I switch back to my own session, using ctr+alt+F7, I first get the screensaver, then after mouseclicking, password, everything is normal for my session. Then I tried to switch users with the terminal using "gdmflexiserver"command to no avail. I got the following comment on the terminal screen: "(gnome-screensaver-command:464) gnome-screensaver-WARNING: unknown option --throttle". Using the command, gets me my partners GUI but with the same problem: transfixed cursor. Tried several times, and one time a tab appeared on my session, suggesting I' d use virtual console or screen 10. So I tried ctr+alt+F10 and there was my partners session, completely ok. But thats a lot of work: first she has to type in name&passwd, then I have to use ctr+alt+F7 and then, after my session reappears, ctr+alt+F10 so she can finally use the laptop. This is, of course, to silly. How to fix this?
