[Bug 384752] [NEW] Battery removal during standby results in immediate standby after resume
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace Hi I am not quite sure if this actually "is" a bug, but I find it quote annoying and I havent seen it on other operating systems. When the notebook is in Standby S3 state do the following: plug in your power cable remove battery power on your notebook The notebook starts just fine but recognizes a "low battery state" and then goes into hibernation immediately - kind'a stupid behaviour!? Instead of recognizing that the battery has been removed AND that the power cable is plugged in instead, it justs shuts down!? Hi In Fedora forum they recommended / found a fix that involved acpi functions of the kernel. In addition most people reported that this issue is doesn t occour with older kernel i.e. 2.6.27-11. There seems to be a fixed xorg driver for intel cards (last page in the following link). I by myself can only confirm that newer kernel version .i.e 2.6.30 RC2 do still have the bug. [Bug 351990] Re: Kubuntu freezes when desktop effects are enabled
The new mesa packages ubuntu 3.1 for jaunty seem to introduce some sort of input lag on my system when compositing is activated. It can be reproduced with the following: open kpackage search for "kde" move with the mouse ober the results Usually the option underneath the mouse gets highlighted pretty much immediately. With the mesa packages it takes over a second and sometimes more. Furthermore it can be seen while browsing with firefox, the mous needs some time to change from mouse pointer to "hyperlink click"..very annoying delay If someone can confirm this behaviour I would report it as a bug to the correspnding mesa release. -- Kubuntu freezes when desktop effects are enabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ok here we go: Driver "radeonhd" is totally useless because: 1) crashes even faster than the other drivers, as soons as glxgears is running for 10-30secs 2) painfully slow (800fps) interesting: driver crached plasma including crash report (never happened with other drivers) Driver "radeon": 1) fast (1800fps) 2) glxgears + vlc + google earth runs totally fine when Desktopeffects are disabled 3) crashes with Kwin desktopeffects, screen freezes in this case with mouse pointer still moving Driver "ati": 1) fast (1800fps) 2) glxgears + vlc + google earth runs totally fine when Desktopeffects are disabled 3) 3) crashes with Kwin desktopeffects: Screen freezes and backlicht goes off!? weird I did test "ati" and "radeon" driver with defaults (no options in xorg.conf) and with options "on" only one option at a time.
