Re: [Bug 321919] Re: package evolution-exchange 2.24.2-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should
Hello Pedro, Thank you for your kind email. It is not an issue for me at the moment. I have mastered Evolution but prefer to use Thunderbird. My issue at the moment is the Zylex Wifi card which is not supported. Ubuntu 8 and 9 both grind to a halt. So I have purchased 20 meters of lan cable and removed my Wifi card. Ubuntu works now. Now I have a problem that I cannot shut 2 of the doors in my condo. Everybody has this problem. The solution is to use Ndiswrapper? and the Widows XP driver but I have not tried it yet. Once again thank you for your attention to me. Best wishes John Black PS I love Ubuntu. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution-exchange i have spent 6 hours trying to persuade evolution to read steve gibsons newsgroups news.grc.com. evolution insists on my pgp pass phrase which it cannot recognize. i am now using thunderbird which works great. now i have trouble uninstalling evolution and may have corrupted my new beautiful ubuntu 8.10 why do you not supply thunderbird as standard instead of evolution as you do supply firefox. i know that your time is free and so i thank you for your efforts but evolution is now so big and full of bugs why do you not just abandon it? best wishes john ProblemType: Package Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ErrorMessage: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should Package: evolution-exchange 2.24.2-0ubuntu1 SourcePackage: evolution-exchange Title: package evolution-exchange 2.24.2-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should Uname: Linux 2.6.27-9-generic i686 ** Affects: evolution-exchange (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package -- package evolution-exchange 2.24.2-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/321919 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337128] [NEW] thank you
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I just want to thank you guys for a brilliant piece of software. I am listening to Garbage using your Rhythmbox player running under Ubuntu Linux v 8.05 (intrepid ibex) on my compaq pressario laptop using a pair of old earphones. The sound quality is amazing on cheap hardware. The visualisation GOOM what a GOOM is just amazing. I dual boot windows xp and the result with windows media player is not nearly as good. I think that is all about the ALSA linux sound driver. I don't really know. You certainly don't need to spend a lot of money on expensive hardware like soundcards. Well done and thank you. I run a full installed version of Ubuntu 9.04 and a full version of Windows XP3 with no problems. As an experiment I installed virtualbox under Windows XP3 and installed Ubuntu 9.04 in virtualbox. And all in a 2GB USB drive. And it worked. The problem is that with such limited memory as 2GB it is impossible to install any updates without damaging the set up and so I have not done so. The version of Ubuntu 9.04 is the unmodified version from the ISO image (or CD) that is available for download. So I thank you for your work but I do not know how I can install the new package. -- Best wishes John Black Email:- johndevbl...@yahoo.com Web site:- http://onwardoverland.com Motor racing:- http://devonrover.com -- Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in Dispatch() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444669 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 431217] Re: package ttf-mscorefonts-installer 2.6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I run a number of machines. This bug only seems to affect my AMD64 athlon dual core machine. I had a lot of trouble installing ubuntu 9.10. It crashed on me several times and I had to do a restart - even got a blue screen from windows xp. Let me explain. I like to play. I dual boot windows xp and ubuntu 9.10. windows xp is always underneath. I run sun virtual box on windows xp and Ubustu 9.10 so that I can run the other on the one at the same time. The problem seems to be related to mixing 32 bit windows xp with 64 bit ubuntu 9.10. You can run 32 bit windows xp in sun virtual box on 64 bit ubuntu 9.10 - no problem - runs really fast and well. You cannot run 64 bit ubuntu 9.10 in sun virtual box under 32 bit windows xp - you must use 32 bit ubuntu 9.10 and expect problems when installing it but it does work eventually. ..and always there is a problem installing ttf-mscorefonts-installer. I thought at first that it was my slow internet connection or some problem with the sourceforge.net web server but apparently not. 64 bit ubuntu 9.10 -- package ttf-mscorefonts-installer 2.6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/431217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 776361] Re: Firestarter fails to open system log
Me too. I have the same problem. Am about to try this fix. Ubuntu 11.04 seems full of these little quirks. Wish I still had Ubuntu 10.10. Am running ubuntu clasic (gnome) rather than unity. COMPIZ still does not work. I am trying to control my PC (Ubuntu 11.04) from my laptop (Ubuntu 10.10). This might fix it. Another problem is using FTP inside nautilus. Typically starting nautilus as nautilus /home/myname. Then control L. Then control A. Then control X. (to wipe the /home/myname) Then ftp://ftp.mywebsite.com. But it tries to access /home/myname/ftp://ftp.mywebsite.com. Also a few quirks with USB on virtualbox. Also GRUB2 v 1.99 still tries to access a USB hard drive even if it has been removed. sudo update-grub before shutdown and after removing USB ensures PC will start up again. etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776361 Title: Firestarter fails to open system log To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firestarter/+bug/776361/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
