[Bug 287072] [NEW] Pasting copied symbols incorrectly for some pdfs
Public bug reported: Hello, When i try to copy symbols from some pdfs they are displayed incorrectly. Examples of symbols (without the "): "(+-=[space] /" etc. Not all symbols are displayed wrong at the same time. Furthermore the pasted symbol is pasted as a different character for different pdfs for example copied symbol "=" is sometimes pasted as Z, while copied from other pdfs can be pasted as for example "¼" depending on the pdf. Operating system Ubuntu 8.04.1 32-bit Programs that have this problem: kpdf, evince, adobe acrobat reader. Showcase: 1. Open the pdf with any of the pdf viewers mentioned above: http://www.zef.de/module/register/media/4c1e_TermitenAmazonas.pdf which is displayed correctly. I am sorry i couldnt find more pdf examples as the pdfs i have are copyrighted. 2. Copy some text with symbols (e.g table 1). This does not happen only for tables. 3. paste it in a document. 4. notice the different display for some symbols. Also searching for example for the symbol "=" with the search function will not return all the "="s displayed (for example the ones from table 1). jarlaxl ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Pasting copied symbols incorrectly for some pdfs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 287336] Re: Quickcam video too dark

[Bug 287336] Re: Quickcam video too dark
I mark it as confirmed. I do not think that the expected behaviour is to have dark display by default and to have to download other software to adjust it or to run arbitary c code to get a better display ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- Quickcam video too dark https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287336 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 262772] [NEW] problematic connection to the web when dual booting ubuntu and kubuntu
Public bug reported: Recently I created a partition and installed Kubuntu hardy 8.04.1 (with kde 3.5.9) on that partition so i was dual booting ubuntu hardy 8.04 and kubuntu hardy 8.04 After the install i first booted into Kubuntu. I installed the updates and installed a few software such as firefox on the KDE desktop. have not used any mail program but i used kopete. When booted back to Gnome i found out that: 1. Firefox wouldnt be able to connect to sites that i hadnt visited with konqueror and or firefox. Sites i had visited on the Kde desktop were accessible by firefox. 2. Elinks web browser would not be able to connect to sites not visited in Kde OR to sites not visited by Elinks browser in a previous session. 3. apt-get could not resolve the server for netherlands (where i live) and therefore installing software or updating was impossible. 4. email (thunderbird) was able to fetch and send mails and pidgin was able to connect to yahoo gmail and msn (though i havent connected with kopete to msn) Disabling guarddog firewall in gnome would not change the situation. Firewall not present in Kde. Booting back to Kde and upgrading to 3.5.10 solved the problem. System specs: Intel 915 GAV motherboard with onboard soundcard graphics card ethernet card. 1Gb memory, 3 Ghz Intel pentium E64MT. Ubuntu and Kubuntu on their 32bit version. For any further information please let me know. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- problematic connection to the web when dual booting ubuntu and kubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262772 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 216990] Re: error in auth.log when switch user -- pam_smbpass.so
I was experiencing the same reports (every minute or so) in my desktop machine (connected to a LAN via router) but seems that reports stopped after i configured my firewall (guarddog) to stop logging errors. Indeed upgrade was from Gutsy to Hardy. -- error in auth.log when switch user -- pam_smbpass.so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 216990] Re: error in auth.log when switch user -- pam_smbpass.so
CORRECTION: log reports did not stop after disabling logging (and not logging errors as mistakenly mentioned above). They just reduced in frequency (every 30 mins). -- error in auth.log when switch user -- pam_smbpass.so https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 339256] Re: Double mouse click every time I single click
Update: I replaced the Microsoft mouse yesterday with a Logitech one. The new mouse seems to work perfectly. If this bug appears with that mouse as well i will report. In due time will check the problem with both mice in ubuntu 9.10. rgds jarlaxl -- Double mouse click every time I single click https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/339256 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 260492] Re: opening a directory using an application change associations incorrectly
My two cents here if it d help someone: This bug was triggered to my system (Jaunty) when i edited the program menu by remmoving some entries. Eg. removing the metacity entries (About 10 of them) which i have i no idea how they appeared in the program menu -unchecked- caused metacity not to run. Similarly removing Dolphin file manager entry (several entries) caused nautilus (the default one) not to open the shortcuts from the places menu. -- opening a directory using an application change associations incorrectly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260492 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 339256] Re: Double mouse click every time I single click
I can confirm this bug. However i cannot reply the question if this is reproducible in other machines/configurations. I havent tried with another mouse. For a microsoft 1.1A USB, PS/2 compatible mouse. This bug appears after i install Ubuntu and perhaps some applications. I ve had this problem since Hardy and now in Jaunty Ubuntu. $ uname -r 2.6.28-15-generic Ubuntu 9.04 also occured in Hardy Ubuntu. This is not occuring every time i single click.
