[Bug 387525] Re: Twitter plugin no longer receives updates, and all posts report failure despite success
I will download the patch when I get home to my laptop. I just wanted to add that I'm getting notifications for direct messages. Although they do appear twice in succession. Everything else behaves exactly as reported in the bug. If everyone else is also able to see notifications for direct messages I think it should be added to the main bug report. -- Twitter plugin no longer receives updates, and all posts report failure despite success https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387525 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 387525] Re: Twitter plugin no longer receives updates, and all posts report failure despite success
At first I thought it shouldn't be a related bug for the same reason you stated. But it did happen the same day of "twitpocalypse"...it had never happened before...so I thought it was related somehow. But weird bug aside I just got home and it's no longer sending double notifications for directs. I will refrain from filing another report and you guys/gals can just ignore my first message. have a good day...and I just wished I knew how to code to help out with these sort of fixes... ** Description changed: - After the 'twitpocolypse' the twitter plugin (an extremely popular and + After the 'twitpocalypse' the twitter plugin (an extremely popular and visible plugin) for GNOME Do is entirely broken. This is dude to integer overflow in twitter post ids, and has a simple fix of using a long instead of an int for the post id. TEST CASE: Reproducing this bug is very simple, try to post anything to twitter from GNOME Do. 1. sudo aptitude install gnome-do gnome-do-plugins 2. launch gnome-do 3. enable microblogging plugin 4. enter your twitter credentials in the microblogging configuration dialog 5. Summon Do with space 6. Type your message to post to twitter 7. hit tab and search for "post to twitter" 8. press enter to send message 9. This negative post id also affects incoming messages and prevents them from being shown, so users are not receiving any timeline updates. [Bug 392830] Re: (gdm) Mispelled login should be cancelable
I was just going to post the same thing as part of the 100 paper cuts. It's to learn now that I can use the esc key whenever I mess up the username but I've been using Ubuntu for almost 4 years now and I didn't know this. Maybe it should be made more obvious as naoli said or at least the system could check if there was a user in the computer with the name you just entered. That way if you misspell your username the system will tell you something along the lines of "there isn't a user with that name on this computer" or "wrong username". -- (gdm) Mispelled login should be cancelable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/392830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 270303] Re: MASTER - firefox (intrepid): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted"
Tsvi, I can also confirm it is strictly a ubufox bug as John said. I had just installed Jaunty so my Firefox didn't have any other extension or theme when the bug started after the update to 3.09 ** Summary changed: - MASTER - firefox (intrepid): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" + MASTER - firefox (intrepid/jaunty): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" -- MASTER - firefox (intrepid/jaunty): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270303 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 270303] Re: MASTER - firefox (intrepid): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted"
Alexander, I just did a fresh install of Jaunty. After adding the Ubuntu restricted extras (with firefox open) I started getting this same problem. The "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" dialog appears indefinitely. I have ubufox 0.7 and Firefox 3.0.9 -- MASTER - firefox (intrepid): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/270303 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 270303] Re: MASTER - firefox (intrepid): "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted"
I disabled ubufox 0.7 and the problem stoppedwhy is that? [Bug 359594] Re: System hangs for a while when changing background image
same thing happens to me, and I tried on two different computers. Although it seems hardware related (as in lack of specs) I think it shouldn't happen. I have a laptop with basically the same specs of a two year old macbook (dual processor/1gig RAM) and the mac has smooth background transitions. I really like the feature and hope that it gets better in Karmic, because right now even the music skips when changing wallpapers. -- System hangs for a while when changing background image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359594 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 359594] Re: System hangs for a while when changing background image
I followed the first set of instruction on this page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JauntyJackalope/ReleaseNotes#Other%20known%20issues and it fixed the problem. Just add Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy" to the Device section of your xorg.conf Now everything runs super smooth, just like it should. It looks very nice! This issue has also been fixed for Karmic Kaola as you can see here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- intel/+bug/376030 I had also reverted back to the 2.4 intel driver long ago. -- System hangs for a while when changing background image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359594 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 465250] Re: dell 1557 special key
Hi I also have a Dell 1557 with 64-bit karmic 9.10 installed (it just arrived today and I just finished installing Ubuntu) but in addition to the volume key bug I'm also not able to hear any sound from my computer. Is this related to this bug or is it whole different problem?
