[Bug 252977] Re: Hardy and Intrepid freeze with kernel error: "Eeek! page_mapcount(page) went negative! (-1)"
i tried to boot with noapic and nolapic boot options and it ran well for a while, then ktorrent, firefox, pidgin crashed within a couple of minutes and the system went down. switched back to my old RAM now, will see if that helps. another thing i wonder about (even if i think it's just coincidence) is this post from one of the dupes of this bug: "ChrisLees wrote on 2008-02-18: (permalink) I have run Memtest86 for 5 passes. The RAM (which is new, anyway) passes. I have a Core 2 Duo. The problem has only happened twice - once on the 14th of Feb, the other time on the 16th. I have had this computer unaltered since the beginning of the year." had a strange crash two days ago and it got really bad today... any chance that this is somehow related to the date? -- Hardy and Intrepid freeze with kernel error: "Eeek! page_mapcount(page) went negative!
