[Bug 366421] Re: systemsettings crashes and causes the signal 11 (SIGSEGV).
I installed kdebase-workspace-dbg, but the backtrace I am getting now has a lot of useless lines where it references libQtXml. There is some potentially useful stuff at the end, so I attach it in spite of its own claim of being useless. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help this along. ** Attachment added: "bactrace.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/25971008/bactrace.txt -- systemsettings crashes and causes the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/366421 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 295117] Re: axiom reports System error: Couldn't protect to almost all commands
Yup - workaround is needed (and works!) for official release of Jaunty too. It is kind a frustrating though that 9.04 was released again with a known broken app.. I guess the math eggheads don't enjoy the same attention and tender loving care as the real nerds, but then again, the sheer number of the latter is daunting :-) Thanks for the workaround Max, it is highly appreciated!!! -- axiom reports System error: Couldn't protect to almost all commands https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295117 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

So the axiom version that's in the actual Ubuntu archive is 5 years old - eh? That makes me running a version thats about 30 version behind the current one, and I didn't even know it - sorry folks!! Maybe it was fixed in the latest (or not so latest) downloadable version of axiom, but it wasn't fixed in the 9.10 Ubuntu distro, which is Axiom Version 3.9 - but the workaround still works there. [Bug 419185] [NEW] DCP135C: Displaced print / edges cut
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cups I'm using Brother DCP135C printer with Intrepid (9.04). Printout of OpenOffice documents is shifted about 1/4'' to the left and 3/4'' to the top. In the result the upper and the left edge are cut. Tried to fix in "system-config-printer 1.1.3". Test printout shows the same result. Cross checked with openSuSe 11.1 DCP135C installation: printout in SuSe correct and unshifted. Comparison shows different Imageable Area settings: Page SizeLower-Left Upper-Right Resolution Ubuntu8.26x11.69 0.0x0.0 8.26x11.69 720x720 Suse7.87x11.3 0.19x0.19 8.06x11.49 600x600 verified ppd-file and both are identical (except page size setting, but this is not the problem in this case). Checked the bug report log of the system-config-printer help function and found: 'D [26/Aug/2009:13:09:37 +0200] [Job 45] *** stack smashing detected ***: /usr/Brother/Printer/dcp135c/cupswrapper/brcupsconfpt1 terminated', 'D [26/Aug/2009:13:09:37 +0200] [Job 45] === Backtrace: =', 'D [26/Aug/2009:13:09:37 +0200] [Job 45] /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x48)[0xb8036da8]', Seems some program crashing under way. Print continues however but is displaced. Manage to get complete printouts with 83% scaling, but printouts are reduced in size and white bar at page bottom. [Bug 1733916] [NEW] package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139

[Bug 1733916] Re: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139
Please note that the hardware errors reported for /dev/sdd in Dmesg.txt are related to USB communication problems with one of two external hard drives, which are probably irrelevant (despite these errors, the hard drive does work -- it does not contain any files related to the reported bug). I have two internal SSDs which contain the system directories. After the previous update (a day earlier), I had a system freeze during shutdown, and one during daytime. Only once I had to run fsck on the drive containing the /home folder (but not the /usr folder). It might be possible (not necessarily though) that the reported problem is insular to my own machine, but I'm not entirely sure about that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733916 Title: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1733916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1733916] Re: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139
It appears that "ldconfig" is the program that crashes during the run of the post-installation script. I tried running "ldconfig" and "ldconfig.real" manually, and they crash too. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to debug this for you. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733916 Title: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1733916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1733916] Re: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139
A downgrade to an earlier version of the package fixes the problem, so it indeed seems to be a problem in the new package. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733916 Title: package libc-bin 2.23-0ubuntu9 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 139 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glibc/+bug/1733916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
