[Bug 1627808] Re: e10s support

2016-11-19 Thread drwt
Well, Firefox 50 got released but Ubuntu users cannot benefit from e10s
because this is not fixed.

The next Firefox release will enable e10s for all addons, if ubufox is
still broken by that time all Ubuntu users will have a broken default
browser.

[Bug 1627808] Re: Please enable e10s (multi-core CPU processing) support

2017-08-12 Thread drwt
This isnt just a performance issue, this is a security issue.

Due to this addon Firefox on Ubuntu cannot utilize web content
sandboxing (which obviously depends on e10s) which means Ubuntu users
are being left vulnerable to security issues.

[Bug 1627828] Re: iwl3945 crashes randomly

2016-10-01 Thread drwt
I have the same network controller and

I have been having trouble with wifi stopping working intermittently
after updating to 16.04 requiring a reboot so I surmise this is the
correct issue.

I am currently on 16.10 4.8.0-17-generic #19-Ubuntu SMP Sun Sep 25
05:28:27 UTC 2016 but the issue still remains.

There were no problems with 15.10, this issue started only after 16.04.

[Bug 1629603] [NEW] Wifi stops working sporadically

2016-10-01 Thread drwt
Public bug reported:

Since 16.04 I have been having trouble with WIFI stopping working daily
and requiring a reboot to fix.

This happens at worst multiple times a day and I dont know what could
trigger it, the connection just stops working with no apparent reason
and I cant get it back without a reboot.

I did not have this problem with 15.10.

My access point is ASUS RT-N12E_B1. I did not experience this issue when
I was using a different access point for a few days so I'm not sure
whether the cause is something specific to this wifi environment.

[Bug 1629603] Re: Wifi stops working sporadically

2016-10-08 Thread drwt
Not a full bisection yet but I have narrowed it down:

I looked at all kernel versions that had changes committed to iwlwifi
and tested between them.

I now have determined that I do not have this issue in the kernel
version 4.4.4.

I do have the issue in 4.4.6 and that is the next kernel version that
has changes to iwlwifi so I guess that is the first bad version.

[Bug 1636402] Re: Low text contrast with Ambiant-Mate color scheme

2017-01-16 Thread drwt
This is not a bug in Pluma. This is a bug in the default system theme of
Ubuntu MATE.

Look especially at those dark red and dark purple text on dark
background. I dont understand how anyone can say with a good conscience
that is easy to read.

But I get it. I'll just have to recommend another distro to people as
the defaults here are obviously not meant to be accessible. Not even
with regular eye-sight.

[Bug 1635831] [NEW] How to turn bluetooth off by default

2016-10-22 Thread drwt
Public bug reported:

I want to turn bluetooth off by default, because it is a very rare use
case that I need it.

I go and look at the bluetooth documentation to find out how to do this.

The bluetooth documentation does not contain instructions on how to turn
bluetooth off by default.

https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubuntu-help/bluetooth-turn-on-off.html

I do understand how to click an on/off button, but not how to turn it
off by default, I would expect instructions on how to do that. The docs
itself hint that it is a smart thing to turn bluetooth off to conserve
power.

[Bug 1636876] [NEW] Eject button in Caja devices list is not clickable

2016-10-26 Thread drwt
Public bug reported:

Insert a USB thumbdrive. Open the places sidebar in Caja and the Devices
listing. Try to press the eject button next to your thumbdrive's name.
You cannot click the button with your cursor.

The eject button itself is offset from its visual place, if you click
next to its visual indicator it works.

This is on 16.10.

[Bug 1438003] Re: (1) Creating object for path '/org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/ActiveConnection/0' failed in libnm-glib.

2015-11-08 Thread drwt
It'd be great if this got fixed. Its getting pretty tiresome to
constantly have to reboot laptop and lose data.

Suspending doesnt fix this for me. I wish it would so I wouldnt lose
anything.

[Bug 1064030] Re: Need to add Opus Support to Audacity

2016-02-03 Thread drwt
I find that hard to believe as Opus has been proven to outperform MP3 in
actual ABX listening tests:

http://listening-test.coresv.net/results.htm

http://listening-tests.hydrogenaud.io/igorc/results.html

I dont believe your anecdotal evidence should be regarded as accurate
nor reliable.
