[Bug 551935] [NEW] package emacs22 22.2-0ubuntu6.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-03-30 Thread bbaka
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: emacs22

This was an auto update and I didn't see anything but the last part, nor did I
catch an exit status. This was a 9.04 upgraded (from the ubuntu server) to 9.10
and the upgrade broke my previously working audio and the Nvidea driver broke
my video. I still have no audio but I do have it on another clean install of
9.10. The video I fixed by using another card but it keeps telling me I am in
low resolution mode at 1024x768. I have a virgin 500GB drive just waiting for
10.04 so I can start over again. I am on reasonably high speed cable at 15Mbps
(throttled down from 30Mbps peak by comcast). Since this bug does not appear to
be a security issue it is only frustrating at this time. I am a user and not up
to developer speed yet.
Thanks,
Bill Baka

[Bug 501588] Re: package emacs22 22.2-0ubuntu6.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-03-18 Thread bbaka
This was an auto-upgrade (distribution upgrade) from 9.04 to 9.10 and
the error message came and went before i could be sure exactly what it
was. This is a best guess since I was watching the news on television
rather than spending an hour watching the screen during the update.

[Bug 501588] Missing sound after auto upgrade.

2010-03-18 Thread bbaka
My upgrade manager came up with an offer to upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 so
I let it do it and most things work but my sound is gone. I did an
install from scratch on another partition and the sound works fine.
System preferences no longer even shows a sound option, just a volume
control which has no sound to adjust. I have an older creative sound
card which is detected during a new install so why not the upgrade? It
did work.
Thanks,
Bill Baka
