Can we repackage exim4 in such a way that recompile isn't necessary? Can we add/create a python patch so that users aren't stuck with perl/C. Is it just a cheap trick to use perl to call a python file? If that's possible, I imagine it'd be very slow compared to compile-time support. I've compiled py-exim-localscan as a shared library, and it works. I can't use the options, though, because exim wasn't compiled with "LOCAL_SCAN_HAS_OPTIONS=yes". Can we change this? Also, what's the process of making this a Debian/Ubuntu package. It would be very similar to sa-exim. I had this problem too. However, I suspected that the dvd was protected, so I tried a dvd that I burnt myself, which worked.
