[Bug 363426] [NEW] LUKS automount fails with jaunty

2009-04-18 Thread Xoby
Public bug reported:

LUKS automount worked perfectly with Intrepid. It does not with Jaunty
(installed from RC CD-ROM and updated)

If you plug in a LUKFS usb encrypted disk and give the good passphrase nothing
seems to happen thereafter.
In nautilus "Go=>Computer" view, only an unmoutable USB disk is displayed.

In fact, the volume is opened under /dev/mapper/luks_crypto_$id and a
manual mount is necessary.

[Bug 224750] Re: rpcb_getport_async in sunrpc can cause oops on Hardy

2008-07-20 Thread Xoby
I think still have the bug on Hardy even with the updated kernel
(2.6.24-19-generic).

When I copied a big file (800M) from an NFS share (NFS4+Kerberos) the
copy did not work (see dmesg output as attachment)

It already exists, it's bug 212485 [1] "After viewing a film on an
nfs4 share for about 20 minutes ... with a similar kernel
backtrace". But as 212485 is marked as a duplicate of 224750 it seemed
the good place to answer ...

[Bug 35836] Re: Hold packages

2007-10-21 Thread Xoby
I am not sure that my request is the same as this one, but before
opening another bug repport I'll try here first :

Due to a bug in gusty with my hardware, I have to use install another
version of the package "network-manager", but the update manager keeps
telling me that an update for network-manager is available.

Of course, I don't want to upgrade to this version (which is bugus with
my hardware) so I opened aptitude changed the state of the package to
"hold". But, the update notification is still here.

I think that the update-notifier should be aware of the "hold" flag and
have an option in the preferences like : "don't bother me with updates
of packages with the hold flag".

Until this bug is solved, I have to remove update notifier because
having a "you have 1 update" message at each login is quite boring ...

PulseAudo-esound-compat

I've checked if the update process was the problem : I've purged Adobe Reader
package and checked that there was no "/opt/Adobe" directory. When I install
directly from the ".deb" package I still get the same problem :

[Bug 580530] [NEW] teatime applet width reduced to one pixel on startup

[Bug 400329] Re: Lowercase "v" key not working in gnome terminal

2009-08-27 Thread Xoby
I had the same problem with the "m" key, the problem was that the
keyboard shortcut for Copy (or Paste) of the gnome terminal was set to
the "m" key.

I suspect that the problem comes from a bug in gnome terminal automatic
keyboard shortcut functionality (select a menu function and type keys
to assign a shortcut), normally it should work only with if a control
key is given but maybe in some case it works only with one and hence the
bug ...

[Bug 874293] Re: Spyder color 3 not being connected (USB)

2011-10-23 Thread Xoby
I am also affected by this bug and available to do some tests.

I think it is more likely a kernel or udev-level bug as the device keeps being
connected then disconnected then reconnected again and again ... with this
message :
[ 4050.892294] usb 3-1: USB disconnect, device number 7
[ 4051.132207] usb 3-1: new full speed USB device number 8 using uhci_hcd
[ 4051.317266] usb 3-1: usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd mtp-probe rqt 128 rq
6 len 1024 ret -84
(the only difference being the device number which increases at each step)

Maybe we should try another distribution livecd to see whether this
behavior comes from the kernel or the distribution ...

[Bug 879706] Re: aptitude shows double every package

2011-12-12 Thread Xoby
The problem is that Ubuntu 11.10 supports multiarch (32 bit packages on
a 64 bit architecture) but aptitude does not.

As a temporary solution you can comment "foreign-architecture i386" in
"/etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch" to be able to use aptitude (and
uncomment if you need to install 32 bits packages)
