[Bug 485671] [NEW] network not found

2009-11-19 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

1) Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic)
2) network-manager 0.8~a~git.20091013t193206.679d548-0ubuntu1
3)+4) I don't know if it is an issue in the Network Manager or somewhere else,
but when I start my system wireless network in my house is not in the list of
available networks in the Network Manager applet till I run 'modprobe -r
iwl3945 && modprobe iwl3945'. I have the Intel 3945 wi-fi card.

[Bug 473871] Re: incorrect in_state

2009-12-17 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
Good news: problem solved. :-)
I moved all files from my ~/Ubuntu One folder, then reinstalled completely
*ubuntuone* packages and copied files back. I faced another issue (attached
file) but it was probably just some temporary problem with connection. Now
everything works great. I think this bug affected only people using BETA who
had some files in ~/UO folder before they updated to stable.

files to be burnt on the CD.

start burning in 2 hours so I canceled the operation and tried another CD and
another files. Situation was the same again.

So you don't have any files in ~/Ubuntu\ One folder owned by some other
user? Sorry for a stupid question again, but the answer is crucial for
decision whether your case is a new (different) bug or not because as
long as I remember all cases mentioned above were caused by this.

[Bug 407762] Re: ubuntuone-syncdaemon maxes out system resources when trying to hash a file with root permissions

2010-05-30 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
The easiest solution is to remove files owned by root from the Ubuntu One
folder (or to change their owner or permissions). But I don't have any idea if
you want to have files owned by root in your Ubuntu One folder.
If suggestions mentioned above doesn't work, look also in comments of Bug
#449760.

[Bug 498188] Re: bash doesn't recognise commands correctly

2010-03-06 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
I had very similar problem today while converting video files. I used this
command 'mencoder -oac mp3lame -ovc xvid -vf scale=320:240 -ofps 20
-xvidencopts bitrate=300 -o out.avi vvideo.avi'. Since there was an error
(double 'v' in the input file name) encoding failed. But when I was trying to
correct this mistake moved the cursor to the position of the first 'v' and
pressed Delete some other characters appeared on the place of 'v'. When I
corrected it to the right name 'video.avi' and pressed Enter to run command
mencoder failed again. Again with the bad name of input file but this time with
'idveo.avi'. No matter that there was 'video.avi' in the line before pressing
Enter. In other words there where two different strings in the input buffer of
bash and on the screen. This problem repeated again and again. But when I try
it now (a couple of hours later) it works very well. I can't understand what
happened.
I wanted to attach ~/.bash_history file here but I have just realised that it
is empty owned by root and has the modification time 2010-03-04 21:01 (the time
in the output of ls -la command)! May it be somehow connected with my problem?

[Bug 498188] [NEW] bash doesn't recognise commands correctly

2009-12-18 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bash

1. Ubuntu 9.04
2. 3.2-5ubuntu1
3.+4. Here is the output from my Terminal window:

k...@koki-desktop:~$  sleep 12h; kill -TERM `pidof transmission`; sleep 5m;
shutdown -h now
bash: shhutdown: command not found
k...@koki-desktop:~$

Funny, isn't it? I don't know how to reproduce it but this happened on
my computer this week. I just copied it from terminal without changing
it. Bash really added one more character to my command. :D I use this
command every week for at least 4 months without any troubles. This time
I came back to my computer a week after running aforementioned command
and saw this output.

[Bug 501029] [NEW] no video signal after running

2009-12-28 Thread Vratislav Podzimek
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: teeworlds

1.) Ubuntu 9.04
2.) 0.4.3-3
3.) I installed Teeworlds via Synaptic then ran it and expected it to run
correctly.
4.) But the only thing that happened was black screen on monitor and text
saying "no signal"

I think it might be some problem with screen resolution. Is there any
way to change graphic settings before running the program? For example
some text file...
