[Bug 137340] Gutsy tribe-5 installer doesn't suggest a suitable kernel for Via C3 CPU - but there is one

2007-09-04 Thread Uwe Helm
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: base-installer

Hey,

i've tried to install my Via C3 Box with gutsy-server-i386.iso daily build from
09/04/2007 and it is unable to find a suitable kernel during the installation.
i just switched to the busybox console; chrooted to /target and installed
linux-image-2.6.22-10-386 - which worked just fine.
so i assume you could just add the CPU to the 386 compatibles.
here is the install/hardware-summary:

i hope this is not a dup of #86270

[Bug 533515] [NEW] Unable to select anything in detail view

2010-03-06 Thread Uwe Helm

Since upgrading to Lucid, I can only change into a different directory in the

If you have the cloned git repository, you can use git revert to roll

If you downloaded a tarball from kernel.org you need to have the .patch
file for the commit id above and use 'patch -R' to revert the patch.

Not sure what the implications for the kernel are or why it is not included in

[Bug 674680] Re: Network manager drops, then re-establishes wifi connection every 2 minutes

2010-11-12 Thread Uwe Helm
could you post your /var/log/syslog from the boot up until re-
establishment? most likely it's a driver issue and you could tru
installing a newer kernel version (http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-maverick/)

[Bug 266927] Re: Static sound on Left Channel with hda-intel STAC 9221 A1

2010-11-13 Thread Uwe Helm
this is still an issue for me as of kernel 2.6.37-rc1. i have been
trying every fix suggested here in the last few months but i keep
getting distortion on every 5th reboot or so. reloading the module
_always_ helps.

daniel t chen:
was there a specific patch included in the ppa that fixes this?
