[Bug 43393] Re: Doesn't show thai language correctly

2007-02-20 Thread Timokl
I have Firefox 2.0.0.1+0dfsg-0ubuntu0.6.10 installed on my machine. I
don't know, whether this is the version that you applied the patch to,
but at least Synaptic tells me it's the most recent version.

However, with this version, still Thai is not rendered correctly on a
UTF-8 encoded website and within Firefox's GUI. On TIS-620 encoded
websites, the rendering looks ok.

I found one workaround: In "Settings", just dis-allow a website to use
its own fonts, so that Firefox always uses the default fonts.

Within the GNOME-GUI, Thai is rendered correctly. But the same issue as
with Firefox also occurs with Thunderbird.

[Bug 43393] Re: Doesn't show thai language correctly

2007-02-23 Thread Timokl
I included here a screenshot. In the main text, there are more aesthetic
issues (like tone markers set too high), but the ticker text shows the
more annoying problem.

The website is: http://www.dailynews.co.th/, it's UTF-8 encoded.

With Theppitak's help, I installed this Debian package thaifonts-

[Bug 43393] Re: Doesn't show thai language correctly

2006-11-19 Thread Timokl
I have the same problem. Vowels and tone markers are not rendered at the
right place making Thai text (nearly) impossible to read.

It's a font problem. If you have a website with Thai encoding
(http://www.thairath.co.th/) like TIS-620 - everything looks nice. But
if you have a UTF-8 encoded page, the rendering is not correct.

And there is another thing: Text renders correctly in any time, when you
it's italic and/or bold!

[Bug 1726224] [NEW] wacom invisible mouse pointer in wayland

2017-10-22 Thread Timokl
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10, I connected my Wacom Intuos tablet,
which has touch and pen functionality.

Controlling the mouse pointer through the touch functionality seems to
work fine, but using the stylus produced very strange behaviour,
depending the program.

- With Firefox there there are two pointers - one that is moving in
accordance with the stylus movements, and one stays put at the position,
when the stylus movement was detected.

- With Darktable the mouse pointer becomes invisible, once it's moved
inside of the application window (it registers clicks though). Once the
pointer is moved outside of the application window, it appears again.

I'm running Ubuntu inside of a wayland session.

libwacom2: 0.24-1

[Bug 695580] [NEW] Kernerl 2.6.35-XX fails to boot Asus F81 notebook

2010-12-29 Thread Timokl

[Bug 333730] Re: Wireless connection with ath9k is very unstable

2012-03-10 Thread Timokl
I face similar problems on an Asus Notebook with AR928X wireless card.
The connection to my router is extremly unstable, after about a minute
the connection drops every time, and re-connecting takes an awful lot of
time. I tried using WICD instead of Network manager - same problem. I
have Windows installed on the same notebook, and wireless works fine
there, so it's no hardware failure.

[Bug 826806] Re: when attaching a usb based music player to a usb port banshee does not open

2011-11-12 Thread Timokl
When I plug in my Android phone, there is a selection what to do: a)
open in Nautilus b) open in Shotwell - but anything regarding to Banshee
or music is missing. When I start Banshee manually, it recognizes the
phone as Music Player device.

[Bug 779501] Re: no default video format

2011-06-27 Thread Timokl
You can solve this the following way:

Just create a text file $HOME/.config/video_format and write into this
file "PAL" or "NTSC".

The reason is that DVDAuthor does not support default video format any
more, so you have to define it.

It worked for me. :)

[Bug 803009] [NEW] package flashplugin-installer (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: colliding packets

2011-06-28 Thread Timokl
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 11.04, I seem to be stuck with an old version
of Flash - the plugin is installed (I can use Flash in Firefox and
Chromium), but there is no packet "flashplugin-installer" or
"flashplugin-nonfree" installed.

When I try to install the "flashplugin-installer" (be it Synaptic or
apt-get), I get the error message of colliding packages. "E: Sub-process
/usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)"

According to Firefox about:plugins, I have

I run Ubuntu 11.04 64 Bit.

[Bug 695580] Re: Kernerl 2.6.35-XX fails to boot Asus F81 notebook

2011-06-24 Thread Timokl
@Brendan: Thanks for your suggestion, but it does not work on my
machine. So, I still keep pci=nomsi, as Idler suggested.

I'll try a live-cd, but if I remember correctly, it does not boot.

Found out that the problem seems to be because Amibios in the notebook
... booting with acpi=off works.

** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => acpi (Ubuntu)

Turing off sound in Kino produces playback at normal speed - but no
sound. :-/
