I'm having similar problem on Intrepid. The burning of an ISO file stopped after a short while (2 min). Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openssl I was upgrading from 7.10. The libssl package failed to be upgrade but everything else seemed to be working. After I rebooted my system, the crash report icon appeared. That was how I got to this page to report the bug.
