[Bug 151585] Re: USB Devices unrecognised by virtualbox (/proc/bus/usb missing)
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 156085 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156085 Hi there, We really got close the solution with the command below, only problem: the mouse would be invisible in the VirtualBox, and won't work on Ubuntu, but as soon the virtualBox is shut down, the mouse appears to be working, also if I plug my external Hdd before I run the VirtualBox, windows xp would take forever to with the Blue Welcome screen, so I had to send the Power Off command to the virtualBox. Hope there would be a fix for this. Thanks for the efforts tho. Attachment: screen shot @Gene: do $ sudo mount usbfs -t usbfs /proc/bus/usb/ -o devmode=0666 before starting VirtualBox (if security is an issue, use a different mode and set a group using -o devgid). This will hopefully be fixed in the next version of VirtualBox. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20882404/Screenshot.png -- USB Devices unrecognised by virtualbox (/proc/bus/usb missing) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1965812] [NEW] After "apt upgrade" around Mar 18, shotwell desktop slideshow does not work any more
Public bug reported: Hi, I had ubuntu 22.04, which was upgraded from 21.10 following the link: https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-upgrade-ubuntu-to-22-04-lts-jammy- jellyfish. It has worked well for me until I run "apt update and apt upgrade" around Mar 18. I have wallpaper slideshow setup using shotwell before the upgrade. Attach the syslog. The frozen session started booting from 13:34:54. I used alt+ctrl+del to reboot and the last thing I saw on the screen was those systemd-udevd logs at 13:35:54. [Bug 1965812] Re: After "apt upgrade" around Mar 18, shotwell desktop slideshow does not work any more
Thanks for sharing your experience. I took a look at my .local/share and saw shotwell/wallpaper/ and the XML. I did not have .local/share/gnome- background-properties either. However, if I copied the XML to gnome- background-properties, it did not work for me. I've tried to install Ubuntu 22.04 beta in a virtual machine and the slideshow seems to work fine. I guess maybe this is a bug that only appears when "apt upgrade". If that is the case, I think eventually no one will fix the issue for me as any Ubuntu developer can mark the bug something like "can't reproduce". -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965812 Title: After "apt upgrade" around Mar 18, shotwell desktop slideshow does not work any more To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1965812/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1965812] Re: After "apt upgrade" around Mar 18, shotwell desktop slideshow does not work any more
Hi, Alexandru, That xml does not work either. However, I happened to find out the root cause in my system. That is related to dark mode wallpaper. See https://twitter.com/alexm_gnome/status/1491527119389827074?s=20&t=j6y1hOlJlHulg57Ild47xA.
