[Bug 938334] Re: Crash during user creation in 11.04 install
** Description changed: I've encountered this bug three consecutive times. While installing 11.04, the installer starts up, I configure my location, manually partition my drive and press submit. [Bug 938334] Re: Crash during user creation in 11.04 install
Interesting. I just used a live disk to format my drives (rather than formatting them in the installer as I did previously), and now the installer runs without a hitch. I'm not sure whether the policy is to close the bug report now that the issue has been resolved for me, or if it remains open until the underlying cause can be found. Either way, if anything further is needed from me let me know. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/938334 Title: Crash during user creation in 11.04 install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/938334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 938334] Re: Crash during user creation in 11.04 install
Just experienced the same problem on another one of my systems while installing 11.04. It was previously running 11.10 as well, similar to the system I referenced in my original bug report. It may be a coincidence, but in every case where it's crashed I've selected "no" when prompted about copying my user profile from my existing 11.10 install. If I don't import my existing user, it crashes; if I do import my existing user, it succeeds. The only way I've found to prevent it from crashing when I don't want to import my user is to format the drive prior to running the installer, rather than letting the installer format it.
