[Bug 253258] [NEW] Computer rebooted by itself
Public bug reported: I was just surfing the web when my computer decided to reboot itself without any warning, not a brutal one but a clean reboot with an ubuntu shutdowning screen. I just had the same problem after upgrading to Intrepid Ibex, it was caused by not having the restricted repository in my sources.list and thus the necessary package not being installable. Adding the said repository corrected the problem. In any case jockey should not fail silently if it cannot install a package (there was no error message, neither graphical or in the console). Thanks to both of you for theses patches. I merged Siegfied branch since it's the more up to date and I was also willing to remove the debian directory. I don't think webboard-applet needs a man page. [Bug 562481] [NEW] Freeze during boot with splash on livecd and installed system
Public bug reported: Hi, when trying to install from Lucid live cd, my whole computer freezed at the Ubuntu aubergine boot screen.it responded to no keyboard input and I couldn't access any console, so I had to reboot manually. After installing from the alternate cd, the installed system freezed in the same manner. Following the instruction at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Freeze%20during%20boot%20or%20shutdown%20screen I disabled the splash screen and then thing worked normally. Using the rescue mode and then starting X via startx also works. Hey, sorry for the late answer, I hav been busy with work recently so I couldn't work a whole lot on butterfly and papyon First for Fabio problem the password are effectively limited to 16 characters, the official client crop them before sending them, would be easy to do the same in papyon.
