[Bug 51000] X.org leaks the world
Public bug reported: I'm using Kubuntu Dapper i386 upgraded from Breezy on an AMD Athlon 1400 MHz system with 1.5 GB of RAM and an Nvidia graphics card on an Asus A7A266 board. When working, usually I have the following programs open at the same time (I'll attach a complete typical process list): - Firefox - Thunderbird - Eclipse (using the Sun's Java JRE) - Amarok - Psi - Skype - Krusader After a I while (a few hours), my system tends to get sluggish. Top reveals that the X.org process is using most of my memory (it uses about 1 GB of RAM). Closing Thunderbird, Firefox, Skype, Amarok, Krusader and Eclipse doesn't help. [Bug 52112] Error message "buffer shorter than subpacket" when touching my keyring
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnupg In my GPG keyring, I have 312 keys (including mine) and 71350 signatures. I regularly do a "--refresh-keys" to download new signatures. For the last few days, I get the following error message (or warning) when doing anything with my keyring: gpg: buffer shorter than subpacket gpg: buffer shorter than subpacket gpg: signature packet without keyid gpg: buffer shorter than subpacket (I refer to these four lines as "message block" further down.) When doing gpg --rebuild-keydb-caches, I get this message block once. When doing gpg --check-trustdb, I get this message block 6 times. When doing gpg --refresh-keys, I get this message 10 times: Once at the beginning and 9 times at the end of the process. I'm not really sure whether this really is a bug in gnupg or just a malformed key (and if so, how I can find out which key it is). ** Affects: gnupg (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Error message "buffer shorter than subpacket" when touching my keyring https://launchpad.net/bugs/52112 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52113] GPG support stopped working
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: psi I'm using Kubuntu Dapper i386 upgraded from Breezy on an AMD Athlon 1400 MHz system with 1.5 GB of RAM and an Nvidia graphics card on an Asus A7A266 board. For some time, I've been using PSI with GPG encryption for some contacts. Usually, PSI asks me first for my Jabber password and then for my GPG passphrase. For some days now, PSI doesn't ask me for the GPG passphrase anymore, and the button for GPG encryption in the chat window is disabled. In my account setup (details), the complete section "OpenGPG" now is disabled. In addition, a message is displayed in that section: "Unknown key: 10BFA4E2" - which is not my key ID (= the last 4 bytes of my key fingerprint), but the 4 bytes before that. Sending and receiving signed and encrypted messages still works fine using Thunderbird and Enigmail. I case this is relevant: I'm usually running kgpg in the background. In addition, bug 52112 popped up about the same time as this problem, but I'm not sure these problems really are related. [Bug 53355] Re: Firefox crashes when any dialog gets opened
I've nailed down the problem a bit further. This seems to be some strange permissions problem. 1. When I delete all contents (including hidden files) from a newly- created test user's home and then log in as that user (using KDE) and start firefox, everything works fine. Opening file pickers works fine. Even the Ubuntu start page gets displayed properly. 2. When I delete all contents (including hidden files) from my home and then log in as me (using KDE) and start firefox, I still see the same symptons as before: Opening a file picker still crashes, and I still get the warning about the missing start page (bug #49152). locale produces the same output for both users: [EMAIL PROTECTED] LANGUAGE=de_DE:de:en_GB:en LC_CTYPE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_NUMERIC="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_TIME="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_COLLATE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_MONETARY="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_MESSAGES="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_PAPER="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_NAME="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_ADDRESS="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_TELEPHONE="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_MEASUREMENT="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_IDENTIFICATION="[EMAIL PROTECTED]" LC_ALL= -- Firefox crashes when any dialog gets opened https://launchpad.net/bugs/53355 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I'm using KDE 4.4.2 from Lucid Lynx on a board with i965 graphics. For DVI1, change from "clone of VGA1" to "to the left of VGA1" and click on "apply". Expected results: The "is this setting correct" dialog appears, and I have 30 second to either accept or revert the new settings. No crash. [Bug 586910] [NEW] Java editor view has no focus after double-clicking a java file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: eclipse Steps to reproduce: 1. in the Package explorer, double-click on a Java file 2. press CTRL + F to search for some string in the file Expected results: A Java editor view gets opened. The Java editor view gets the focus, and CTRL + F opens the find/replace dialog for that file. Actual results: A Java editor view gets opened. Focus however stays at the Package explorer view, and CTRL + F opens some search field for the Package explorer. This worked fine with the Eclipse in Kubuntu 9.10. In addition, Zend Studio for Eclipse also is affected. This worked fine in Zend Studios for Eclipse 7.12 on Kubuntu 9.10, and after re- installing Kubuntu 10.04 (and copying back my home directory which also includes Zend Studio), this was broken. I've also filed this in the Eclipse bug tracker, but the Eclipse folk says that this probably is "buried lower": https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=312568 Launchpad issue #237819 sounds a bit similar, but I'm not quite sure about this. [Bug 579587] [NEW] Xserver/KDM crash when adding a second monitor
Public bug reported: I'm using KDE 4.4.2 from Lucid Lynx on a board with i965 graphics. I've connected two 1600x1200 monitors to my computer, one via DVI and the other via analog VGA. When using them for cloning each other's contents, both work fine. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. in the KDE system settings > display > size & orientation, check that both displays are visible. VGA1 is first, DVI1 is second. 2. For DVI1, change from "clone of VGA1" to "to the left of VGA1" and click on "apply". Expected results: The "is this setting correct" dialog appears, and I have 30 second to either accept or revert the new settings. No crash. Actual results: The "is this setting correct" dialog appears. After about 1 or two seconds, I'm facing the KDM login again.
