[Bug 668924] Re: No wireless for Atheros AR9285
Hello Fabio With the rc2 kernel the system won't start up in the GUI - it states something with fail regarding some MMIO registers. I'll attach the Xorg.o.log if it can help. Hi again Fabio Still it won't start up the GUI. But instead in the commandline like logon. After logon i have tried to submit the 'startx' command, but this doesn't do anything. Then i tried with a new reboot - didn't help. I have attached the Xorg.0.log. [Bug 668924] Re: No wireless for Atheros AR9285
Sorry to say, but the 2.6.38-rc6 didn't do the trick for me. Just using it with the 10.10 ubuntu resolved in a commandline logon screen. Then I tried the natty from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v2.6.38-rc6-natty/ in a live session using a usb stick, but after boot up there was still no available wireless networks presented. If you're interested in some logs, please let me know. [Bug 668924] Re: No wireles on 10.10 (nor on 10.04)
Regarding the wireless switch on the laptop - it is active (blue light) and if I right-click the network manager icon, it says wireless network 'not connected' (something like that - i'm running the danish version) - but if I touch the laptop wireless switch, it turns red and the right-click on network manager icon, says 'deactivated' for the wireless network. I have no knowledge of a keyboard shortcut switch. Regarding the iwlist: mor...@morten-laptop:~$ iwlist wlan0 scan wlan0 No scan results Thank you for your efforts Regards Morten -- No wireles on 10.10 (nor on 10.04) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668924 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 668924] [NEW] No wireles on 10.10 (nor on 10.04)
Public bug reported: Hi there I have a problem with my HP dv6 2050eo after upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 and then to 10.10. The network manager doesn't show the available wireless networks in 10.04 and 10.10.
