[Bug 379557] [NEW] wired eth0 keeps on disconnecting
Public bug reported: Initially installed 8.10 on my HP e-PC and upgraded to 9.04. Found that the inbuilt 3Com ethernet card was not working. Network Manager seemed to try to connect to my router for an IP addr but is unable to get an assignment. Tried then to set a static addr but this still didn't resolve the issue - the system merely sent a notification that the wired eth0 was connected and then seconds later reported that the interface was disconnected, and so on and so on... Thought this issue may have been due to the upgrade so downloaded an ISO about 2 hours ago, burned it to CD and tried a fresh install. Same problem. [Bug 1540001] Re: visual becomes distorted
I am also experiencing this bug on my Dell OptiPlex GX-520. System seems mostly stable on this and I can get some work done. If I recall correctly this bug seemed to pop up when I was installing Gimp and then on another occasion when switching to Terminal from Chrome. Hopefully it will be resolved or at least a workaround put into place as I am not looking forward to a reinstall. *-pci description: Host bridge product: 82945G/GZ/P/PL Memory Controller Hub vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 100 bus info: pci@:00:00.0 version: 02 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz configuration: driver=agpgart-intel resources: irq:0 *-pci:0 description: PCI bridge product: 82945G/GZ/P/PL PCI Express Root Port vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 1 bus info: pci@:00:01.0 version: 02 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pci pm msi pciexpress normal_decode bus_master cap_list configuration: driver=pcieport resources: irq:24 memory:fe90-fe9f *-display:0 description: VGA compatible controller product: 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@:00:02.0 version: 02 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: msi pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=i915 latency=0 resources: irq:16 memory:feb0-feb7 ioport:e898(size=8) memory:e000-efff memory:feac-feaf *-display:1 UNCLAIMED description: Display controller product: 82945G/GZ Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2.1 bus info: pci@:00:02.1 version: 02 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm bus_master cap_list configuration: latency=0 resources: memory:feb8-febf *-pci:1 description: PCI bridge product: NM10/ICH7 Family PCI Express Port 1 vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 1c bus info: pci@:00:1c.0 version: 01 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pci pciexpress msi pm normal_decode bus_master cap_list configuration: driver=pcieport resources: irq:25 ioport:1000(size=4096) memory:fe80-fe8f ioport:f400(size=2097152) *-network description: Ethernet interface product: NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: pci@:02:00.0 logical name: enp2s0 version: 01 serial: 00:13:72:b5:8b:b9 size: 100Mbit/s capacity: 1Gbit/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm vpd msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=tg3 driverversion=3.137 duplex=full firmware=5751-v3.44a ip=192.168.168.2 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=100Mbit/s resources: irq:16 memory:fe8f-fe8f *-pci:2 description: PCI bridge product: NM10/ICH7 Family PCI Express Port 2 vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 1c.1 bus info: pci@:00:1c.1 version: 01 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pci pciexpress msi pm normal_decode bus_master cap_list configuration: driver=pcieport resources: irq:26 ioport:3000(size=4096) memory:fe70-fe7f ioport:f420(size=2097152) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1540001 Title: visual becomes distorted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1540001/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1546552] [NEW] Display distorts when performing some actions
Public bug reported: On occasions, like when trying to install Gimp via the Software Centre, the display distorts so that it is not readable. Sometimes moving the mouse around frantically puts the screen temporarily to a state where it is again readable but then distorts again almost immediately. Opening other apps, or going to a terminal screen, and then back sometimes gets the display back to normal and I can get some work done. Highly annoying and very unproductive so have had to move other business machines back to 15.04 which did not display the problem. Maybe not related but sometimes the terminal (in a window) loses the mouse and seems the only way to recover is to restart the terminal. Also mousing over the Launch (Unity) menu bar sometimes leaves traces of the tooltips on the screen. Working in OpenOffice/LibreOffice - sometimes small bits of text are slightly garbled. Scrolling to move the affected text off the screen and then back on corrects the display. mike@GX520:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 15.10 Release:15.10 Probably the same issue as bug #1540001. [Bug 921871] Re: Screen frequently distorts randomly
Have the same problem with my system (Dell OptiPlex GX520, Intel® Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz × 2, Graphics Intel® 945G x86/MMX/SSE2, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS). After a clean boot all fine for a while then graphics start to go wonky. Background image gets pixellated once an app like Firefox is opened and then closed. Tool tips off the Unity Launchpad strip at the left are effected i.e. some don't display correctly. In some rare cases the entire system gets effected and the menu items, etc. can't be read and a restart is necessary. Problems only started with the introduction of Unity. Before this the graphics worked perfectly. May be related but my system also seems much slower now than 10.10 or even 11.04. Really annoying bug that feed the Linux nay-saying machine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/921871 Title: Screen frequently distorts randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/921871/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
