Thanks Christopher M Penalver, I have added bug #1546552 and subscribed you to it. This bug is affecting my main desktop (sole means of revenue- generation) but it doesn't seem to pop up that often so I may just battle through with 15.10 and not downgrade in anticipation of a solution in the not too distant future.
