Users of email clients, which don't support GPG see signatures of S/MIME messages as attachment called signature.asc. GPG compatible email clients hide them and show is the signature valid or not. You might have better luck moving to some fork reporting it at their issue tracker. I am at home now and my connection is working, firewall isn't blocking outgoing connections and http proxy is on localhost as caching proxy (Polipo) and programs can connect without it.
