Although the output looks ugly, those messages should be just warnings lm-sensors should work okay. Did the package install/configuration actually bail out with an error ? With bluez those message were supressed (see bug #280360). Jason, this issue has not been resolved in intrepid's -8 kernel. /dev/.static/ is still mounted as read-only bind mount. This will be fixed in jaunty's udev eventually. I reckon the the goal is to use NetworkManager to talk with Bluez (via DBus), but the NetworkManager doesn't have proper support for bluetooth PAN/DUN yet. As for "just work" bit - NetworkManager should automatically discover available interfaces of the paired bluetooth devices. This is just my guess though as I'm unfamiliar with bluetooth PAN/DUN. Hi, I've been using bluez-gnome (0.28-0ubuntu1~ppa3) from your ppa and I haven't spotted any regressions. The current package in Intrepid (0.25-0ubuntu2) doesn't display "Services" right for me, but this works OK with your ppa package. I've tested functionality with Nokia 6230i phone. "Browse Device..." feature works without regressions and I'm able to receive files from the phone using "Receive files from remote devices" as well. I cannot figure out how to send or receive files using bluez 4.x. Sending from PC to phone fails with message 'Method "CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "sss" on interface "org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist'. Sending from phone to PC fails as phone cannot find PC's bluetooth device/filesharing interface. Browse functionality works okay with Intrepid's obex-data-server. Not sure why upstream is offering their own obex server alternative called obexd though. yes, amarok does function, but introduces a regression compared to earlier releases. There seems to be no way to safely remove an ipod using GUI in Hardy as umount leaves the device in "Do not disconnect" state. Using eject from console safely removes the hardware. The problem may arise as differently formatted devices have different number of partitions and trying to eject wrong partition yields the same error. I just ran into this issue when testing firefox-2 (2.0.0.13+1nobinonly- 0ubuntu1) in a lvm snapshot volume. The first install went without problems.
