[Bug 260948] [NEW] please sync groovy (1.5.6-2) from Debian unstable (main) and promote package to universe

2008-08-24 Thread Matti Lindell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: groovy

Please consider syncing newest Debian revision from unstable as the package is
now built using openjdk-6-jdk which allows the package to be moved in universe.
Debian moved the package to main already.

New Package builds fine. There's no Ubuntu delta. Thanks.

New changes:

groovy (1.5.6-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Build the package with openjdk-6-jdk now.
  * Move package to main.
  * Change Depends: openjdk-6-jre-headless | java5-runtime-headless.
  * Bump up Standards-Version: 3.8.0 (no changes needed).

[Bug 296477] Re: libsensors4: setting up (configure) failed

Although the output looks ugly, those messages should be just warnings
lm-sensors should work okay. Did the package install/configuration

Did you run 'sudo sensors-detect' afterwards to actually probe available

[Bug 296477] Re: libsensors4: setting up (configure) failed

2008-11-12 Thread Matti Lindell
Jason, this issue has not been resolved in intrepid's -8 kernel.
/dev/.static/ is still mounted as read-only bind mount. This will be
fixed in jaunty's udev eventually.

I reckon this bug should be marked as a duplicate of bug #253786 if the
problem is only the terminal output which is symptom of intrepid's
kernel (offering read only bind mounts) and udev (/dev/.static/ hack).

hidd, dund and pand binaries from bluez 3.x series have been deprecated

[Bug 284073] Re: Missing pand in bluez-utils

2008-10-29 Thread Matti Lindell
I reckon the the goal is to use NetworkManager to talk with Bluez (via
DBus), but the NetworkManager doesn't have proper support for bluetooth
PAN/DUN yet. As for "just work" bit - NetworkManager should
automatically discover available interfaces of the paired bluetooth
devices.

This is just my guess though as I'm unfamiliar with bluetooth PAN/DUN.
If you're able to get things working with compat binaries, it's all
good.

[Bug 256994] Re: Please update bluez-gnome to 0.28 and rebase off Debian

2008-09-26 Thread Matti Lindell
Hi,

I've been using bluez-gnome (0.28-0ubuntu1~ppa3) from your ppa and I
haven't spotted any regressions. The current package in Intrepid
(0.25-0ubuntu2) doesn't display "Services" right for me, but this works
OK with your ppa package.

I've tested functionality with Nokia 6230i phone. "Browse Device..."
feature works without regressions and I'm able to receive files from the
phone using "Receive files from remote devices" as well.

Thanks.

[Bug 274950] Re: Look into switching to bluez 4.x

I cannot figure out how to send or receive files using bluez 4.x.
Sending from PC to phone fails with message 'Method
"CreateBluetoothSession" with signature "sss" on interface
"org.openobex.Manager" doesn't exist'. Sending from phone to PC fails as
phone cannot find PC's bluetooth device/filesharing interface.

Browse functionality works okay with Intrepid's obex-data-server. Not
sure why upstream is offering their own obex server alternative called
obexd though. This should be checked as well.

[Bug 274950] Re: Look into switching to bluez 4.x

2008-09-28 Thread Matti Lindell
There's at least one upgrade related issue remaining that should be
resolved.

After installing bluez package and then trying to purge bluez-utils package,
the following error occurs:
update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/bluetooth exists during rc.d purge (use -f to force)
dpkg: error processing bluez-utils (--purge):
 subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 bluez-utils

Package states before the purge:
ii bluez 4.7-0ubuntu1~ppa6
rc bluez-audio 3.36-1ubuntu2
ii bluez-cups 4.7-0ubuntu1~ppa6
ii bluez-gnome 1.5-0ubuntu1~ppa6
rc bluez-network 3.36-1ubuntu2
rc bluez-utils 3.36-1ubuntu2

I'm still unable to send files from phone to PC, but everything else
works okay. (I was using obex-data-server 0.3.4+svn1951-0ubuntu1~ppa1 if
it matters).

2008-07-17 Thread Matti Lindell
I noticed this issue too, always happens when restarting network daemon.
Using Intrepid, sysvinit 2.86.ds1-59ubuntu1.

The typo is either in wpasupplicant which defines
IFSTATE_FILE="/var/run/network/ifstate" or eiher in sysvinit which tries
to lookup the ifstate file from different location:

$ grep -R ifstate /etc/*
/etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs:  if [ `grep -c $i /var/run/network/ifstate` -eq
"0" ]; then

[Bug 235576] Re: Please merge bluez-utils 3.30 from debian unstable

2008-05-29 Thread Matti Lindell
Mario, as the new bluez-utils version has converted from services to
plugins, maintainer scripts need to remove remaining .service files from
/etc/bluetooth/ [1]. I reckon this needs to be done for input.service
network.service and serial.service which Debian doesn't include.

Does this merge drop network and serial (now) plugins that we used to
have earlier?

[Bug 314038] Re: Integrated video interface is broken in Jaunty

2009-01-12 Thread Matti Lindell
backporting the fix is non-trivial, so we probably need a git snapshot
of current HEAD. Upstream advises against the fix we have in Intrepid as
it appears to be broken. Could someone in MOTU Media Team take this ?

There seems to be no way to safely remove an ipod using GUI in Hardy as

ejects okay:
$ sudo eject /dev/sdc
$ gnome-mount -e -b -d /dev/sdc2

eject fails:
$ gnome-mount -e -b -d /dev/sdc

gnome-mount seems to fail with an error if ejecting a device instead of
a partition. The problem may arise as differently formatted devices have
different number of partitions and trying to eject wrong partition
yields the same error.

Shouldn't gnome-mount be able to eject a device instead of a partition
as the eject -command does?

[Bug 218585] [NEW] update-java-alternatives doesn't change sun-java6-plugin to sun-java5-plugin

2008-04-17 Thread Matti Lindell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: java-common

Using Ubuntu Hardy.

$ dpkg-query -W sun-java?-plugin java-common
java-common 0.28ubuntu3
sun-java5-plugin1.5.0-15-0ubuntu1
sun-java6-plugin6-05-0ubuntu1

I have both sun-java5-plugin and sun-java6-plugin installed. Using
update-java-alternatives I cannot seem to switch using sun-java5-plugin
if sun-java6-plugin is selected as a default first.

After 'update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun'
$ ls -la /etc/alternatives/*java* | cut -d' ' -f8-10
/etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
/etc/alternatives/java.1.gz -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/man/man1/java.1.gz
/etc/alternatives/java_vm -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java_vm
/etc/alternatives/javaws -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/javaws
/etc/alternatives/javaws.1.gz ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/man/man1/javaws.1.gz
/etc/alternatives/xulrunner-1.9-javaplugin.so ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

Then after 'update-java-alternatives -s java-1.5.0-sun'
$ ls -la /etc/alternatives/*java* | cut -d' ' -f8-10
/etc/alternatives/java -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java
/etc/alternatives/java.1.gz ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/man/man1/java.1.gz
/etc/alternatives/java_vm -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/java_vm
/etc/alternatives/javaws -> /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/bin/javaws
/etc/alternatives/javaws.1.gz ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun/jre/man/man1/javaws.1.gz
/etc/alternatives/xulrunner-1.9-javaplugin.so ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so

It seems that other alternatives are changed correctly except the
plugin. If I remove the sun-java6-plugin package and then update-java-
alternatives for java-1.5.0, sun-java-5-plugin is selected correctly.

[Bug 204700] Re: about:about doesn't work

2008-04-17 Thread Matti Lindell
I can confirm this with xulrunner 1.9~b5+nobinonly-0ubuntu3. toolkit.jar
has about.xhtml, but not aboutAbout.html which about:about is trying to
open.

** Changed in: xulrunner-1.9 (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Confirmed

[Bug 218594] [NEW] firefox-2 should depend on libnss3-0d

2008-04-17 Thread Matti Lindell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox
Version: 2.0.0.13+1nobinonly-0ubuntu1

firefox-2 package should probably depend on libnss3-0d as the package
doesn't get installed along with firefox-2. There are broken symlinks
/usr/lib/firefox/ pointing to files provided by libnss3-0d.

[Bug 207029] Re: firefox-2 postinstall points to wrong location of restart-required.update-notifier

2008-04-17 Thread Matti Lindell
I just ran into this issue when testing firefox-2 (2.0.0.13+1nobinonly-
0ubuntu1) in a lvm snapshot volume. The first install went without
problems. After purging the package and trying to reinstall the error
occured:
