I'm suffering this problem, but installing the "linux-backports-modules- intrepid-generic" package I get *some* better performance using OpenGL, for example, with the "expo" effect. [Bug 327872] Re: Broken support for MPEG-TS: HDV and AVCHD (.mts/.m2ts) files
Well, I have movies recorded with a Panasonic Camera (.MTS extension) and I have some issues (Karmic x86 and x86_64, two very different machines): - Nautilus doesn't generate a preview thumbnail. I did some mime-type hack (I can't remember what exactly) and now Nautilus does thumbnails. I don't know if this is fixed in Lucid. - Totem (Gstreamer) plays MTS files very good, but with annoying A/V sync problems (the video has 1 sec. or some of delay). I haven't found a bug of this (should I create one?). - VLC plays MTS fine too, synchronization is ok, but I see some artifacts, which seems are fixed in trunk [1]. [1] http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/3277 Hope this helps. [Bug 497732] Re: Tar exited with error 512 () status
Well, to avoid the error state in backuppc I added "--ignore-failed- read" to the tar command in localhost.pl [1]: $Conf{TarClientCmd} = '/usr/bin/env LC_ALL=C $tarPath -c -v -f - -C $shareName' . ' --totals --ignore-failed-read'; The fact is backuppc makes backup of localhost under "backuppc" system user, not a sudoer one, not root (see the comment in localhost.pl...). I don't know if this is right or not, but it's good to know that those files (passwd, shadow, group, etc.), aren't copied in the process. [Bug 940030] Re: rsyslog stops working after logrotate until restarted
I also can confirm adding "create 640 syslog adm" to /etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog fixes the problem. @Gustavo, you should change the /etc/logrotate.d/rsyslog file from this: /var/log/syslog { rotate 7 daily missingok notifempty delaycompress compress postrotate reload rsyslog >/dev/null 2>&1 || true endscript } to this: /var/log/syslog { rotate 7 daily missingok notifempty delaycompress compress create 640 syslog adm postrotate reload rsyslog >/dev/null 2>&1 || true endscript } and now you're ok. And for the record, I also moved away from syslog-ng to rsyslog, so I think it may cause this bug (perhaps a package's install/uninstall script). Hi Vince, Ok, I've tried setting two-finger scrolling in the System Config, and executed "synclient FingerLow=5 FingerHigh=6", but despite I get *a very little bit* of scrolling (in some rare cases), this is not useful at all; most of the times I fail to scroll. Hi Vince, I'm answering from the bug report so everybody can see my results in a Vostro 3360. You're right about two-finger scrolling, it seems to work by default ("synclient -l" gets configured with FingerLow=12/FingerHigh=15). I figured out that it doesn't work _perfectly_ (I'm still getting frequent pointer movements instead of scrolling up/down) if I use the middle finger + ring finger. It works much better if I use the index finger + middle finger nail instead (YMMV, of course). On the other hand, the edge scrolling, even setting FingerLow=5 FingerHigh=6 does not work, or does it in very seldom cases. [Bug 579892] Re: libvirt should not use the MAC address assigned to tap devices/vnet interfaces by the TAP/TUN driver
@Serge, where is located that PPA with Lucid's libvirt package fixed, so I can test it too? Do you know when this it's going to be SRU'd? It's been a lot of time since Lucid (LTS) is out and this bug is *very* annoying. :-/ Thanks -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579892 Title: libvirt should not use the MAC address assigned to tap devices/vnet interfaces by the TAP/TUN driver -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 579892] Re: libvirt should not use the MAC address assigned to tap devices/vnet interfaces by the TAP/TUN driver
I have another question, Putting "pre-up ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:00:00:00:00:01" in the interfaces config file, like Carlos did, is a workaround to the bug? Just to clarify :-) Regards -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579892 Title: libvirt should not use the MAC address assigned to tap devices/vnet interfaces by the TAP/TUN driver -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 546653] Re: Dlink DWA-125 (07d1:3c0d) is processed by wrong module
@Sundberg, I've installed that backports package, rebooted, and that way I can't make this device work. It works perfectly if I make the rt2870sta module to handle it, just like this forum thread says: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9700749 My DWA-125 Vendor:ID is "07d1:3c16". I haven't tried to recompile the drivers from Ralink source because I saw the method documented in this forum thread was easier to work with. I forgot to say that I don't have the Lucid backports channel activated, only main and updates. [Bug 525807] Re: [upstream] [3.2.1] OOo Slide Show and Fullscreen modes - not full screen under compiz
I can confirm what João said, in my case activating "full screen workarounds" in ccsm didn't solved the Openoffice Impress full screen problem... (Ubuntu Lucid 10.04, OOo 3.2, x86_64).
