[Bug 1589006] Re: Failed unmounting Mount unit for nvidia support in snappy
Same issue here on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS(Unity). Could not login. What I did is stop "lightdm", after which "var-lib-snapd-lib-gl.mount", after that I purged "nvidia*", removed "snapd" and removed the folder "/var/lib/snapd", in the hopes that it won't start this problematic service any more. I restarted and now it could login but compiz does not load(windows without frames and --replace does not work). If I try to install nvidia, it does not allow me because it tries to remove "libcuda1-364" which fails to be removed because it can't find "var-lib-snapd-lib-gl.mount", tried forcing and everything, don't know what to do with it any more... The biggest issue is that this is my main and only machine in the house + it is a full encryption system, I can't just start installing Ubuntu all over again, I have a lot of data... I said to myself I won't ever install Ubuntu as the only system since I always get hit with these issue within' 1-2 months of normal usage(every Ubuntu version I had breaks at some point after an update - at work we have 12.04.5 and one day it broke a few hundred of dev machines with an update to the Linux kernel, luckily you can switch to an older version in grub). That looks like a hack. [Bug 839384] Re: [Oneiric]Unity Dash has a very bad impact on the computer performance
On a fresh install it was lagging when switched to full-screen dash(after a fresh boot with no applications running and letting the OS to load fully and with 1 minute of additional time for any operations it might have to do to finish). After I updated it wasn't lagging any more when it was full-screen. I can't test if the MeMenu lags because now when I open it(MeMenu) Dash closes automatically. I tested with a video in the background, for that I opened Firefox with 1 tab with a youtube video loaded. The video set on 480p, it was enough to start the video for the dash to lag very hard in FullScreen mode or Non-FullScreen mode and also the video was lagging while the dash was open... I want to remind that this laptop is not that weak, it can play without any problem 1080p youtube videos for example. Also, if allowed, why I said it has a bad performance impact: I had a long time ago a PC with AMD Athlon 3000+(1 core, 1 thread, 1.8 GHz) and 1 GB Ram and it was running without any problem Windows 7 and KDE. This laptop is about 2-3 times more powerful than that old PC that I had and it lags when it opens the dash and the computer does any other operations while the dash is opened... I also want to point out that this laptop has Kubuntu 12.04 LTS installed and it has no problems at all with all the default effects activated... I can compile the kernel on it with -j16 and youtube videos don't lag on 1080p in KDE. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/839384 Title: [Oneiric]Unity Dash has a very bad impact on the computer performance To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/839384/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 800840] Re: unable to install grub 2 on btrfs
If you don't support root on btrfs yet than announce when we format the drivers(as it was before, it was asking for ext3 even if ext4 was ok too when we were choosing btrfs).
