[Bug 1634802] Re: Could not insert module
I've found a hack that will enable nvidia module to insert into kernel: Uncomment this line: #PATCH[1]="buildfix_kernel_4.3.patch" in file /usr/src/nvidia-304-304.132/dkms.conf then sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-304 In Ubuntu 16.04 it was uncommented, because there were some mtrr changes in 4.3.0 kernel. This patch works for 4.8.0 kernel also. Module works, but something is wrong with acceleration, because Unity is not working. This should throw some light on it: $ glxgears X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 155 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 3 (X_GLXCreateContext) Value in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 30 Current serial number in output stream: 31 but running as sudo works $ sudo glxgears Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate. 303 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.420 FPS 300 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.928 FPS I'm currently using gnome-session-flashback with metacity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1634802 Title: Could not insert module To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1634802/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 372705] Re: nautilus doesn't update view after file/directory creation
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 371219 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371219 I don't really think this is a duplicate. Difference is that on my system gvfs-monitor-dir _doesn't_ recognize any activity (in contrast to the other bug report where gvfs-monitor-dir _does_ recognize activity)! [Bug 293386] [NEW] scim-pinyin crashes when user data index gets corrupted
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: scim-pinyin After experiencing a problem with my home partition getting completely filled, all KDE applications crashed on startup with scim-pinyin appearing in the backtrace. I noticed that my ~/.scim/pinyin/pinyin_phrase_index had a zero byte length. I removed this file and restarted scim, the index was regenerated and everything worked again. It would be nice if scim-pinyin would do some sanity checking on its files. [Bug 183139] Re: [wishlist] make gtk laf default for icedtea-java
Hi, Unfortunately the GTK+ LAF is NOT fully compatible with default Metal LAF, and in some cases may cause major application problems (including crashes and data lost). Even the new Nimbus LAF (included in Java 6 Update 10) is not set as default to preserve backward compatibility. However, there are two good solutions: * User/Package Maintainer can modify particular application shortcut to add "-Dswing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel" parameter. Example command: java -Dswing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel -jar application.jar * Java Developers can set Look And Feel to: UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName() The getSystemLookAndFeelClassName() method automatically returns "com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel" (GTK+ LAF) on Linux/GNOME platform. -- [wishlist] make gtk laf default for icedtea-java https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/183139 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 283239] [NEW] objectclass filter bug in rwm overlay module of slapd 2.4.9
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: slapd Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release:8.04 slapd 2.4.9-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 When using rwm to create a subset ob attributes the objectclass attribute is filtered. Things like libnss-ldap and pam-ldap gets broken ( since they use a search filter with (&(objectclass=posixAccount)) ). The bug is known and fixed ( in 2.4.12 ) upstream. The Openldap ITS Number is 5647 ( http://www.openldap.org/its/index.cgi/Software%20Bugs?id=5647;page=3 ) Is it possible to patch the bug? If you need more information please contact me. Configure libnss-ldap on a Linux Client to use LDAP as NSS Source for group, passwd and shadow 2.) On the server try this config: -- start -- databaseldap suffix "dc=example,dc=org" uri "ldap://realldapserver.example.org"; overlay rwm rwm-rewriteEngine on rwm-normalize-mapped-attrs yes rwm-map attribute cn * rwm-map attribute uid * rwm-map attribute uidnumber * rwm-map attribute loginshell * rwm-map attribute gidnumber * rwm-map attribute userpassword * rwm-map attribute gecos * rwm-map attribute shadowlastchange * rwm-map attribute shadowexpire * rwm-map attribute homedirectory * rwm-map attribute shadowMin * rwm-map attribute shadowMax * rwm-map attribute shadowWarning * rwm-map attribute shadowInactive * rwm-map attribute shadowFlag * rwm-map attribute memberUid * rwm-map attribute uniqueMember * rwm-map attribute description * rwm-map attribute sn * rwm-map attribute givenname * rwm-map attribute mail * rwm-map attribute * -- end -- all other attributes are hidden ( objectclass attribute inclusive ;-(( ). The nss ldap client is now unable to find a user since the ldap filter (&(uid=xyz)(objectclass=posixaccount)) allways returns null entries. If you comment out the last line ( rwm-map attribute * ) then everything works OK, but all attributes are delivered to the client! We have more attributes on the "realldapserver" but we only want to provide the attributes needed for nss. I have compiled the version 2.4.12 from source and the bug is gone. So I think it would be nice to backport the patch which is in 2.4.12 to 2.4.9 ( Ubuntu Version ) or to update the openldap package to 2.4.12. [Bug 249107] [NEW] Nautilus columns act strange on click and drag (resize) on the column titles
Public bug reported: Just open nautilus and resize the columns. They simply don't do what I expect them to do. A behaviour like in OpenOffice Calc would be nice for instance: A movement of the column's title border leads to a resize event. But nevertheless the border I click on is moved in OpenOffice Calc. In some cases nautilus works as expected, but the leftmost column cannot be made smaller by dragging it's right border to the left (see the video). Maby this is also a general GTK problem because Rhythmbox behaves the same as nautilus when trying to resize the "Artist" column.
