[Bug 246141] Re: no support for realtek rtl8187se
Jostein: I left my machine powered off for about an hour, tried again, and now it's working. Guess that fixes it for me. However, it seems like multicast is still not supported with this driver, because Avahi's mdns-scan still can't find any services not running on localhost. -- no support for realtek rtl8187se https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246141 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 246141] Re: no support for realtek rtl8187se
Just upgraded to Jaunty. It doesn't work for me. :( dmesg indicates that the card has been detected and drivers have been loaded successfully, but I can neither see the WPA2 Personal network that I have here, nor connect to it by name. This was working until the upgrade; three other machines here continue to work with that network. [Bug 285759] [NEW] OpenOffice.org 3.0 slow at redrawing UI elements
Public bug reported: I'm running Intrepid with the OpenOffice 3.0 packages from ~openoffice- pkgs ppa. While OOo 3.0 in general has similar performance characteristics to OOo 2.4, I've found that all UI elements, including menus and toolbar buttons, flicker on refresh, such as when hovering over them. (However, they do not flicker on subsequent refresh, such as when I move the cursor away and back over again.) Form-based windows, such as at Tools ->Options, take up to a second to draw all widgets in the window. I've even managed to take a screenshot while the form was drawing. ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- OpenOffice.org 3.0 slow at redrawing UI elements https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 285759] Re: OpenOffice.org 3.0 slow at redrawing UI elements
Just tried -- makes no difference, even after restarting OOo. In any case, the 1s redraw time I mentioned may be exaggerated. It's a split second, but long enough to notice and certainly long enough to capture mid drawing. I suspect the video driver is misconfigured, since I only get ~500fps in glxgears with or without Compiz. [Bug 282631] [NEW] Compiz draws garbage on screen before opening window
Public bug reported: When opening new maximised windows with Compiz, they momentarily display garbage (<1s) before the window refreshes. This only happens with large windows. Menus, et al display fine. The garbage always consists of diagonal lines, suggesting Compiz is rendering from a buffer previously used for another window before the current window has rendered.
