[Bug 327668] Re: gnome-appearance-properties crashed after login on 8.10->9.04a4 upgrade
Thanks for your reply. I was just going to write some updates to my previous notes. Some days ago I reinstalled Ubuntu 8.10 and most of the programs I had installed. A few moments ago I upgraded to alpha 4 again, and I have not received the error like I did the first time, I tried to upgrade to alpha 4. I guess there has come a lot of updates the last 10 days. I'll keep the valgrind link, if I ever experience the problem again. >From my point of view I think the bug can be closed again, since I have not been able to reproduce the problem the second time around. -- gnome-appearance-properties crashed after login on 8.10->9.04a4 upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327668 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 310301] Re: Jaunty alpha 2 black screen after ubuntu progress bar
I am getting the same issue but with alpha 4 after installing the latest updates today. I had no boot problem after upgrading 8.10 to 9.04 alpha 4. If I disable the splash screen the system boots without any problem. That confirms the solution written by Patrick Kilgore. Just wanted to add that the same brightness issues can be found on a Acer 5315 laptop running Jaunty beta. Adjusting volume work fine using the fn keys, but brightness does not. The brightness OSD appears but I cannot change the brightness. Changing the brightness using the gnome brightness applet works fine a side from that it's very flickery (like its is starting at dark level and then jumping to the new lighter brightness level every time I make the brightness lighter, so it goes from dark - lighter1 - dark - lighter2 - dark - lighter3 - dark - lighter4) -- Cannot change screen brightness on Fujitsu T2010 laptop in Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/220407 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 654272] Re: worm game. cannot start new game. game score is initialized but the game splash (worm with green background) does not disappear
Dear Darran, Yes, the problem can be reproduced. I have tried removing Gnibbles and installing the game again but the problem occurs again. To recreate the error follow these steps: - start Gnibbles - start new game - the game starts resetting the score of each worm, but the game level area does not appear. Yes. I also experience kernel panics. The issue started after upgrading Xubuntu from 12.10 to 13.04. But it only happens with kernel 3.8. I just want to an some extra comments to my #131 comment. On my machine with broadcom 4312 wifi the kernel panic can be reproduced quite easily, if I start Transmission and add a couple of torrents. After 2 - 15 minutes the panic normally happens. If I do ordinary web browsing with Firefox, I do not experience any problems, so maybe the issue is related to network load. [Bug 2091902] Re: packagekit wants to update but cant because it's upposedly not installed
I had this issue too on 22.04. Started after an update where an error occurred "The Pakagekit daemon has crashed". After that I tried "sudo dpkg --configure -a" but that failed too at the PackageKit update. Like described in the report above. But during this step some other updates was installed correctly, so not a complete fail. After that I tried "sudo apt --fix-broken install" as suggested in an update error message.
