[Bug 68818] Re: squid transparent proxy is broken
I'll second this one. I replaced a gentoo server in my DMZ providing the squid transparent proxy and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working with my brand new "Edgy" install. It took me a while to track down that it was bug in squid and not a configuration error on my part. I have some detail I can add to this bug. This has stopped happening to me after I changed the "Turn off after:" setting in System Settings -> Screen. [Bug 886887] Re: screen saver after going into blank screen, resumes to all-white screen, no unlock dialog
This definitely seems to have resolved the issue for me. If I revert back to the 3.0 series kernel I can reproduce the issue fairly readily. The 3.3 kernel does seem to have a side effect with regards to video though. When I come back to the machine and move the mouse, the screensaver unlock pops up, but I can see the desktop (Unity and the background). It's more of a nuiscance than anything else and is definitely an improvement over having to shut my laptop to suspend it and reset the video hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886887 Title: screen saver after going into blank screen, resumes to all-white screen, no unlock dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/886887/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 770625] Re: overlay-scrollbar_0.1.9-0ubuntu1 update causes vmware workstation to crash when resuming and pausing virtual machines.
On the forums in response to my suggestion to downgrade the lib, Heroprotago suggests using the LD_PRELOAD environment variable to force vmware to use the glib it is shipped with. export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0/libglib-2.0.so.0 He suggests putting this in the vmware shell script. I would recommend creating your own shell script that exports this environment variable and calls the vmware script so it is persistent across vmware upgrades.
