This definitely seems to have resolved the issue for me. If I revert back to the 3.0 series kernel I can reproduce the issue fairly readily.
The 3.3 kernel does seem to have a side effect with regards to video though. When I come back to the machine and move the mouse, the screensaver unlock pops up, but I can see the desktop (Unity and the background). It's more of a nuiscance than anything else and is definitely an improvement over having to shut my laptop to suspend it and reset the video hardware. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/886887 Title: screen saver after going into blank screen, resumes to all-white screen, no unlock dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/886887/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
