[Bug 656517] Re: launcher should allow to start several instances of an application

2013-08-17 Thread Joey Dodson
This affects me in not being able to open multiple instances of pd-
extended on a netbook. The programs I'm running are very processor
intensive and need to take better advantage of the multiple cpu cores.
If I run them in a single instance of pure data it's unbelievably laggy,
whereas if they were opened separately they should be more functional.
If it is possible with a middle click, it's still not practical for me
since I have no middle click.

[Bug 433651] Re: Chat window grows beyond screen bounds - no text wrap when typing in the message entry

2011-03-31 Thread Joey Dodson
I have the same problem, it's not fixed in Empathy 2.32.1 [Ubuntu
10.10].

Some observations from others' comments as well as a bit of messing
around with it:

*the window will expand rather than wrap text
*this only happens in chatrooms (as opposed to private conversations)
*this does not happen if the contact list is disabled
*someone mentioned that it only happens if at least one contact is truncated
with ellipses (see gtk+ bug link below, thanks Omer!), though I found that this
is not the case. Though there does seem to be some threshold size, where if the
contact list is over a certain size, the problem doesn't occur.
*this also seems to be tab specific for me, meaning if I make one room's
contact window small and go to another room it wraps fine, whereas if I go back
to that room it will expand
*it will expand some length before the text actually reaches the end of the
input field
*it will expand past the edge of the monitor
*maximizing the window does not stop the issue
*it's not possible to resize the window smaller again without deleting (or
sending) the text
*also this seems to be a gtk+ bug as Omer mentioned:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=587441

Hopefully this summary is helpful to someone that might be looking at
this issue. Others should feel free to confirm or deny these claims
(though I tested all of them on my own system).

[Bug 433651] Re: Chat window grows beyond screen bounds - no text wrap when typing in the message entry

2011-03-31 Thread Joey Dodson
Oh, also for now I am dealing with the issue by just resizing the
contact list to a big enough size to prevent the expansion. Users should
not have to worry about things like this in the long term, but it is a
decent short term solution for myself.

[Bug 772951] Re: Super + Numeric shortcuts don't always work

2011-05-13 Thread Joey Dodson
I've also seen this a couple times. Much like the Spanish Inquisition, I
never expect it. I can't reproduce when it happens, but I have found
that logging out and back in my account will make the numbers reappear.
Ironically, the first time I noticed the problem, I tried to take a
screenshot and it just started working again. Maybe super + sysrq does
something?

[Bug 697717] Re: QQ doesn t work in empathy, QQ considers that empathy is try to hack the account. So the account is simply disabled.

2011-05-10 Thread Joey Dodson
I can confirm this. This is especially a problem because QQ's official
Linux client is really a sad, sad affair. It doesn't leave many options
for those of us on Linux.

[Bug 746973] Re: Facebook certificate is untrusted

2011-04-07 Thread Joey Dodson
Actually, I'm having this problem in Empathy. Even if I choose to
remember the choice to trust the certificate, it still comes up each
time I log into facebook. I also tried Mike Pelley's steps above and
that didn't seem to help. I'll add a screenshot of the message.

[Bug 759114] Re: Empathy Facebook always complains that connection is untrusted

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 746973 ***

Yepp, these steps worked. Thanks!

Make sure to press *space* on the DigiCert certificate. I didn't do that
the first time and it didn't work. ;)
