[Bug 252504] Re: Unwanted and wanted buttons, translation swapped
Sorry, but I can't confirm this. From my point of view the translation is correct: #: ../ui/evolution-mail-message.xml.h:52 msgid "Mark the selected messages as junk" msgstr "Die gewählten Nachrichten als unerwünscht markieren" #: ../ui/evolution-mail-message.xml.h:53 msgid "Mark the selected messages as not being junk" msgstr "Die gewählten Nachrichten als nicht unerwünscht markieren" "junk" is translated as "unerwünscht" and "not being junk" is translated as "nicht unerwünscht". The toolbar buttons are labelled like in the English version. Would you please start evolution in an English environment and check if you can notice any differences in the tooltips of those buttons? Example: ~$ export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 ~$ evolution If there are any differences it may be helpful if you can provide some screenshots. I would recommend to directly address the Pidgin-Upstream project. [Bug 302095] Re: German pidgin translation inconsistent (spelling)
Thank you for this bug report. I uploaded a new upstream translation to Launchpad some weeks ago. This change hasn't been included in an language pack yet but I think the »Passwort« problem should now be fixed in Launchpad. Are you really sure that the »Buddys« does not affect the upstream translation? When I take a look at this http://developer.pidgin.im/l10n/de.po I find »Buddys« in that po-file. Maybe this is not the newest upstream translation. If you can tell me where to find the newest upstream translation I would import the newer one to Launchpad. BTW, the proper German translation of »Buddies« would be something like »Kontakte«. ** Changed in: language-pack-de-base (Ubuntu) Assignee: Ubuntu German Translators (ubuntu-l10n-de) => Jochen Skulj (joskulj) -- German pidgin translation inconsistent (spelling) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302095 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 302095] Re: German pidgin translation inconsistent (spelling)
Now I understand: »Buddys« is the correct upstream translation. Sorry, I didn't know that since we usually try to avoid anglicisms. I updated these strings in Launchpad to the upstream translations: https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+source/pidgin/+pots/pidgin/de/+translate?batch=10&show=all&search=Buddys You are right in saying that »Buddies« is normally translated as »Kumpel«. However in the context of instant messengers »Kontakte« reflects the meaning of »Buddies« quite well, is comprehensible for everyone and sounds just more serious. Besiides my Ubuntu contributions I am also involved in the German GNOME translation teams and we had some discussions about that. Finally we decide to use »Kontakte« in all GNOME applications an especially in empathy. But maybe we just follow diifferent guidelines. Anyway, I hope I were able to fix this according to your expectations. Software Center started with LANG=de_DE.utf8 looks exactly like in the attached screenshot. So I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing. But again: I don't see any translation bug here.
