[Bug 400362] Re: Synaptic Package Manager closes with segmentation fault

2009-08-12 Thread Hiker Hauk
To solve this, execute,

sudo rm /var/cache/apt/*.bin

apt related cache and index are somewhat problematic, I personally at
least experienced twice. Cause is unknown (or it should be fixed now),
the solution is to delete cache and index (and execute #sudo update-apt-
xapian-index).

[Bug 434589] [NEW] Network Manager cannot connect to hidden wireless AP automatically

2009-09-22 Thread Hiker Hauk
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha, up-to-date. Network Manager cannot connect to my AP.
Due to security considerations, my AP does not broadcast its ID. 8.04,
8.10 and 9.04 are all fine with it, the first time I connect to it via
the menu "Connect to Hidden Wireless Network...", then it will
automatically reconnect to it upon boot up. 9.10 won't connect to it
automatically 9 out of 10 times. I can only use the menu.

[Bug 422831] Re: empathy crashes on startup with SIGSEGV

2009-09-09 Thread Hiker Hauk
I can confirm this issue, but it is more severe than it seems. When
Empathy crashed, the user has already signed in. Maybe a certain library
Empathy uses already set to receive Internet traffic. A buddy sent me a
message some while later, and the Empathy UI kept showing up and
crashing and showing up. It would use up one of the CPU cores. I ended
up reboot.

It happened today again trice (100% rate). Maybe it just lowered the
rate or I got luck yesterday. This is still not fixed.

[Bug 451330] [NEW] ubuntuone kidnapped

2009-10-14 Thread Hiker Hauk
Public bug reported:

After updated all my installed packages for 9.10, every single folder
and file, except the special ones like "Music" or "Videos" are marked as
ubuntuone-synchronized. See the image attached.

Because I disabled the auto-start of ubuntuone client and have never set
anything to sync with or to, because you already created a special
folder called Ubuntu One in my home, I kindly think this is a bug and
not a policy issue. During my 6 years of linux experience, never had a
distro done such things to me.

Yes, I am a bit angry and annoyed. Given the chance, every corporation
will do what Microsoft do? I hope this is a bug and get solved soon.
